The SV08 enclosure looks very nice. I'm glad Sovol made it an option to keep the price down for those who print PLA and don't want an enclosure. I've read some comments expressing surprise that the enclosure is such a significant percentage of the cost of the SV08, but considering the quality materials used in the SV08 enclosure, the price seems very reasonable, as I've come to expect for Sovol. If anything, comparing the price of the enclosure to the SV08 only emphasizes what a good deal the SV08 is. I'm still working on my 3D printed SV08 enclosure design. It'll have a single front door that lifts up instead of hinging outward to minimize the footprint, particularly when printing with PLA with the door open. The enclosure has thick insulated walls that should make printing with the heated bed more efficient and allow higher passively heated chamber temperatures. I'm using two 120 mm Noctua fans in the back near the bottom, and there are two large activated carbon HEPA filters on top that can be covered to seal the printer. The fans can be used with the front door open to facilitate high speed PLA printing. The five sides are printed on the SV08 in four panels that assemble with eight 10 mm square pegs per panel. Even with very sparse infill to maximize the thermal insulation, printing an enclosure takes a long time and a lot of filament. I'll upload the design to Thingiverse and Printables when the design is finished, hopefully in a week or two.

With the current nozzle I would not try those type of materials. Even the larger nozzles are not hardened. Either wait for hardened nozzles or replace the nozzle, there are designes for upgrading to all kinds of nozzle types.

As this printer is setup and designed... You could just design and change the extruder and hotend assembly I think... They just made everything open source, right?

I want to know if it can reach the max height of printing without the top interfering. Can you make a video about tuning/adjusting the belt tension on the SV08?

Yes, I will measure both with and without the top hat. I am printing the parts for the "official" raiser right now! Regarding the belt tension, I will need to do my research, currently I have it the way it came out of the box.

Hi there gerGO! How you doing? I currently own a few K1`s and I was thinking about buying another printer. I am currently thinking about either the K1 Max or the Sv08. They`re both the same price (or close) where I live. To be honest, I am more inclined towards the SV08. But I use them for work, not as a project machine. But a COREXY, fully opensource, with this size... I really love the idea about something opensource that I can fix and upgrade it myself. It's damn hard not to think about it. Is it stable enough? I owned a Sovol sv06 one year ago, and albeit it was a good and nice upgrade to the machine I had, it felt more like an unfinished product when I had. I fear the same about the Sv08.

I was given the option to get either and Qidi Q1 pro or Crealaity K1C for comparision with my SV08. Unfortunately for now I chose the Qidi because of its featureset, open system, and better reviews generally. Still, based on my first week of testing it feels on par with my SV08, so I would say the SV08 is probably better than the Creality machine. But no personal experience with Creality.

I will measure the chamber temp with 95°C bed (stock ABS preset). Looks like it will be between 45-50°C depending of course on ambient temp too. It's summer, room temp 28°C and the chamber temp goes up over 50°C. Details in the upcoming video ;)

It gets the job done! But yes, this is on a different level! I was sceptical of the price, but they deliver! Beautiful powder coated aluminum sides and stunning glass. Magnetic doors. The whole thing is well designed and beautifully executed. They even included cable chains, though I had some trouble installing it! Well worth the wait!

@@yuripolak Yes that was my hunch too. I still do a test for you guys in the video. Ahead of time I can tell you with 95°C bed after about half an hour it settles around 50°C as measured by the non-heated nozzle (raised 50mm above the bed) 60°C toolhead temp (always higher than chamber temp) and my independent 2 thermometers at the bed's level: 40-42°C. This with room temperature of 28°C. In a colder room this coudl easily be 8-10°C lower because of the metal side panels.

Yes, it is an open design, as Sovol's website states. No sealing on the doors, and there are tiny gaps on the side panels as well. I plan to do temperature measurements over time in the full video. e.g. 80°C bed's effect on the internal temperature after 5-10-15-30-45-60 minutes. Do you think this would be useful info?

Should have shipped with the enclosure. All the Voron kits come with the panels included. With my recent bad customer service experience trying to get my SV06 plus fixed I'm gona pass on the SV08 and build a Voron. Yea it will be more expensive but it will be the way I want and I have a large community to pester if I run into problems.

Nice, I've been wanting for this video as I ordered the printer with the enclosure and the larger screen. That was almost two months ago, and I was informed that my delivery won't 2:31 ship unt8l early july?, I am not happy about this delay. 5he larger screen is 5 inches, the latest information I have seen is that it is a very basic touch screen the enclosure for the screen doesent evev fit on yhe printer properly. It also uses the HDMI AND USB PORTS!!!! This is so ridiculous as I taught it to use the existing screen connections. This sure looks like an after taught,at €99 what a rip off. I entend to cancel the larger screen and demand a refund. I have ordered a BTT WIFI SCREEN WITH ITS OWN BATTERY AND ITS ONLY €55? REGARDS. MIKE IRISH

I too am getting the touch screen, I am sure the screen will also come. I find the current screen perfectly usable and in many ways it is even better than a touch screen. Which brings me to the next point: it turned out to be misinform that the case did not fit. It is not supposed to fit there. The SV08 is designed to use the two screen together. You will still have the Mini12864 where it is now, the bracket that comes with the screen fits perfetly in the top hat (raiser part) of this enclosure. I wish you more patience, becase this printer system is worth the wait!!! Hold on! I will also test various screens in the future!

I am too a bit pissed. In the opening livestream they had a callout on 400 sold printers and from the timing i suppose i was number 150 to 250. As i live in EU they said shipping starts in Early June, so i took 2 days of at work now on the 17th and 18th because i was shure it would be here by now. But on questioning the support they said it should ship early july. Why wouldn't they communicate that? Not even updated shipping estimates on the website.
