What a great energy in this episode! I just loved your guests and wish they could’ve stayed longer because they were charming. The falafels looked amazing and that final shot of Delos under the music credits with the sunlight dancing on the water was absolutely delicious. Thank you, Delos, for two videos in one week. You just make me smile all over.

In October/November 1993, I was privileged to crew on a 55' Baltic sloop (my friend was a for-hire captain who needed crew), and we sailed from Newport, RI to Bermuda and on to the Virgin Islands. Our first landfall there was Virgin Gorda, so this episode brings back incredible memories of that trip, including going into The Baths. We sailed around the islands for a few weeks and on to Christiansted, St. Croix, where I caught a flight to San Juan and on to Tampa, where I lived then. Oddly, I was the ONLY passenger on that flight and I deplaned to the welcoming arms of my wife and mother at the very moment of my birth, 50 years before. Bizarre and wonderful at the same time. Also enjoying this episode with me just now was my remarkable 101 year old mother, who incredibly visited Saba in the early 1970's along with my father, who passed in 1978. So needless to say, this wonderful episode has GREAT meaning to both of us. I've watched every single video of yours for years, and dearly wish I was in a position to patreon, but unfortunately, I am not. Thank you SO much for what you do.

We had a laugh 😅 t'was so much fun watching! Israel and David are awesome! The last episodes reminded us of the old Delos Vibe, since the marriage episode (uhm where I definitely cried🤣Brady did such a sweet job) - they have been a perfect mix of Kazza being the chill cute smurf she is🤗, Brady being his charming self so metropolitan and engaging, Brian fixing and explaining stuff😉! Most importantly, you guys have had guests on the boat, the essence of delos 💙. And the newer underwater footage def rocks, but we also enjoyed stuff on land in Puerto Rico or hikes and all. The only thing that's missing is a good old provisioning series😉!! We love y'all❣️ Thanks for inspiring the world, you are wonderful❣️

Israel, the amount of love and energy you put into making this video is evident with each edit, musical selection, and captured moment. We all can see your time on Delos was both treasured and savored. It is really an honor to feel that special vibe that you experienced for your trip. Conveying it to video for others in the Delos tribe is yet another gift to the world. It warms my heart to see how DELIGHTFUL you, Dave, and all of the Delos crew are in living your lives. Sharing it with us is so enriching that it's hard to put into words. Fair winds and keep up the good living! For those who love the spirit of Delos, the hour that you spend watching Israel's video will validate that the Delos crew are genuine people who care about their impact on the world, the others they interact with, and, especially, each other. What a joy to see and feel such positivity about the world in the most real way. Marvelous!

What a treat it was to see Saba in a video. I had seen stills long ago. Back in the early 80's I had a grad student that was born on Saba. Her family was from Saba. As you saw getting on Saba was quite difficult, especially a few centuries ago. My grad student and I decided we would pursue a grant from NIH to study the inbreeding on Saba so that genetic counselors could better advise the population. Because the population was so closed to immigrants, inbreeding had resulted in a population in which there were 2 main surnames regardless of whether you were black or white. Scoliosis and Club Foot are two of the most common genetic issues but not the only ones. My graduate student suffered with Scoliosis. Saba is also very special as it has never lost its census records to fire or any other natural disaster so that the population records were very much intact. In addition since my grad student was from there we had access to family records that no one else could access. We contacted the Dutch government and were given their blessings and access to all records. Back in the early 80's desktop computers were just starting. The computer we would have had on Saba would only have had a 30meg hard drive and a 30 meg external hard drive, state of the art then. Anyway I had written a program that calculated inbreeding and relationship coefficients without guessing, and we would be using that to supply the Dutch government with information to really help their families with genetic counseling. We did not get the grant. The head of the NIH grant program called me and apologized that we did not. Turns out the main genetics reviewer on the committee had long ago devised a method to guess at inbreeding coefficients based on last name and he had refused us. Long story but very true. Thank you for your wonderful videos. I have worked myself from your first videos to this point and will be fully caught up soon.
