The people on 1:58 are actually married. They lived a few houses from where i worked here in Iceland. They are truly the most kind and happy people i have ever known. It was amazing to see how little they differ from any of us "normal" people. Spread the love !

I discovered this song on the Vanilla Sky soundtrack 17 years ago. I have been playing this song for my special needs daughter every night as part of our bedtime routine since she was born six years ago. This song is on a short playlist of bedtime songs and although we don’t understand they lyrics she hums herself to sleep to it every time. I just now looked for the video for it for the first time ever. There is really nothing I can say about the way I feel right now except serendipitous.

The Beetlejuice crowd will be rolling through now lol. Vanilla sky originally brought me here. It was during a time when i was lucid dreaming a lot and was 3 months sober. I ended up relapsing after that time and thats the last memory i have of myself being me. I developed a pretty gnarly kind of ocd after called sensorimotor ocd and some chronic pain. When i heard this song it brought me back to that time. That was back in 2011. Got sober in 2012 and I have a 6 year old daughter now and a wife. I still have my mental issues, but i live with it. This is probably the most beautiful comment section I’ve ever read. I just want to come on here and say this song changed my life when I was 13 years old. I’m 25 now, I was really going through a rough time at 13. I use to listen to this with my headphones and feel better instantly, like I wasn’t in my body and I was connected to something much greater than anything I could imagine. Looking back and thinking of it makes tears come to my eyes.

Something happened to similar (without the LSD, but plenty of alcohol). But it was ages before this song. My song is The Rain Song by Led Zeppelin. Even to this day I feel it's my life's theme song (the lyrics are a mystery to me, but they can't be separated from the whole of the song). I want it played during my funeral, and at the spreading of my ashes on the Ohio River.

That's a very nice story, it can only take a moment of surrender. I had one sad song that led me to get in touch with a life's sadness due to a break up and not being able to run away anymore. It was Dustin Tebbut- the breach. It kept coming on the radio and it hurt to listen to but a deeper intelligence for once in my life said STAY, leave it on.

Here in Mexico, in Veracruz, there are big stoned head sculptures that belonged to the ancient civilization the Olmecas, some belive they where made to venerate important rulers, moreover they are also called baby faces due to their resemblance to a baby and it is belived that they where actually made to venerate people with Down Syndrome, since Olmecas considered people with down syndrome to be sacred and they belived that nature itself choose them and made them unique among other individuals.

Gosh, i still remember the exact moment when i first saw this video on MTV in 2000 or so. I was thirteen or fourteen, still living in my old childhood house here in northern Italy, during a boring and lonely winter afternoon after i had just finished my homeworks, comfortably collapsed in our big, light blue living room sofa. That was elevating. Never stopped remembering that particular episode every now and then.

People are often unreasonable, irrational, and self-centered. Forgive them anyway. If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives. Be kind anyway. If you are successful, you will win some unfaithful friends and some genuine enemies. Succeed anyway. If you are honest and sincere people may deceive you. Be honest and sincere anyways. What you spend years creating, others could destroy overnight. Create anyway. If you find serenity, happiness, and joy in the simple things, some may think you're simple minded. Be happy anyways. The good you do today, will often be forgotten. Do good anyway.Give the best you have, and it will never be enough. Give your best anyway. In the end, it was between you and God. It was never between you and them anyways.

Hoy la vuelvo a escuchar, 12 años después, y solo quiero abrir las puertas de mi corazón y llorar en paz. I remember hearing this song for the first time 12 years ago, during a very sad night. Without knowing who this music band was. That sad night, with this song in the background, an infinite pain invaded me. Today I listen to her again, 12 years later, and I just want to open the doors of my heart and cry in peace.

I can't believe this album is nearly 20 years old already, where has the time gone? I remember borrowing the CD from my best friend and looking up the lyrics/translations online (pre-Google) like it was yesterday

For a song thats about birth it always feels very sad. When I hear it I cant help but to think about loved ones that arent here anymore. Beautifully written and hauntingly catchy

I found this via Shazam app while I was watching season two of CSI. I always keep the app handy when I watch tv. Many times, the soundtracks on different shows touch my heart, and I love being able to learn the names and add them to my playlist

Saw this music video on much music's top 100 greatest music videos of all time while staying in a cabin about 4-5 years ago, the day before my sister's wedding. Couldn't remember what it was called for the longest time, searching for a couple years with no luck. Then a couple years ago I got really into sigur ros, and finally found this song. Brings back so many memories every time I listen to it, even now. So glad I got into this wonderful band and finally found this song...

Wow love coming back to this now and again, the song that got me into them many years ago when I saw their performance on mtv thinking ‘did I just witness a guy playing an electric guitar with a bow’ that is literally out if this world music. Its still one of their rawest and most touching pieces!

Just look at that beauty at 2:30 and 3:23. I mean really, these two are sublime. I don't know what happened after this amazing clip but I sure hope they're together as they have such love and chemistry. Gosh what a clip. Their embrace at the end...gosh, we'd all wish we had that level of love. Urgh...if only hey.

DOM season 1, episode 1 on Amazon Prime brought me here. Only made it through the first few measures before I was irresistibly compelled to do a Google sound search. My eyes welled up with such joy and appreciation of our modern technology for allowing me to find this masterpiece, our humanity, and the soul of music that can carry and spread the depths of our emotions. Haunting. Unforgettable.

Played this song repeatedly while traveling in Iceland with my son last year. We did a tour of the hot springs (Geosea, Sky Lagoon, Krauma etc.) in winter. The happiest I've ever been and may ever be.

I first heard this song 15 years ago at 3:00am after a big night out partying. The film clip left me in tears, the emotion was uncontrollable. It struck me to my core, it made me think of my special needs brother, and what a true gift he is in my life.
@emilgrundeis19175 жыл бұрын
Image and sound form a unity here - and I still mean that after almost 14 years. Both inseparable from each other. A great work by Sigur Ròs and a great performance by the "Perlan" theater group from Iceland, staged after a choreography by Lára Sstefánsdóttir. And the message to us humans behind it has depth, despite the emotional, the visible.

I have this thought that maybe it's because most of us, deep down, when we're sort of half-way grown up; having our own and others' mortality hiding away in back in our minds and dealing with life's challenges we all just want to experience a simple, happy, life. The sounds and images we see here is a spying into a fleeting moment, a memory that isn't our own, but yet somehow still is.

I heard this song in art class in college and by far one of my all time favourite songs.
