Nice review, thanks. Just ordered a pair of Cantons. Pity they can't accept banana plugs. Will they accept spade connectors, or are you limited to bare wire connections?

fantastic! I'm planning to finally setup my atmos system in my new home and I was thinking bout getting in-ceiling speakers but too much work and I can't be sure that my setup will stay put forever so....I'm thinking these SVS Prime elevations might work...I was thinking at the front high on the front wall -front height- and then 2 at the back of the room behind my couch also as height...room is open concept so I don't have a left wall (my left when facing my TV) to hang anything on..still not sure what to do about surrounds...argh...now hanging these SVS ON the ceiling looks risky. Will that bracket really hold? they may protrude too much...does anyone make flatter speakers ON ceiling? crazy question...but the SVS prime elevation are within my budget...I don't seem to find the Canton anywhere..thanks

Hey KPACEGUY. I will go with the CANTON AR800. The thing is in Quebec/Canada it s almost impossible to find a dealer who sale Canton Speakers. I did some looking but it s rare. I will continue to look at it untill I find a dealer 😂😂😂. And have a good price too 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽. Great video and informatif for the ATMOS speakers 👋🏽👋🏽

Your review highlights the importance of timbre matching ALL your speakers. I think the Elevations are a good compromise, but can't replace using the same family of speakers for all channels. The elevations are best integrated with other SVS speakers. It may explain why they're not optimal with either the previous Polk setup or your current Canton system. Don't think height speakers are as important as surrounds? Just fire up Midway's Atmos track.

@TylerStout4 жыл бұрын
How is the dispersion of both speakers? Like if you move around the couch with either do you notice the sound change more or do they both provide a good job of dispersing the sound evenly accross the listening space? Would need to compare with them both in the same spot tho. EDIT: the pink noise in the receiver's levels is a good tool for testing this. I plan on going in-ceiling when I go atmos as I don't want that visual impact that front height or speakers mounted to the ceiling gives. Also the wattage range speaker have isn't as important for how loud you can play them things like impedance and sensitivity matter arguably more as a 4 ohm speaker will be harder to drive than an 8 ohm and a speaker with 64W RMS with 93db sensitivity will play louder than a speaker with 128W RMS and 87db sensitivity even when pushing them to their respective highest potential.
@Kpaceguy4 жыл бұрын
Yes the cantons are 4 to 8 ohms and that's why i said they'll be a tad harder to drive but not by much since at their lowest Impedance they arent asking more than 100w or so. The cantons do seem wider because of the bigger wave guide and driver size. Which is probably why I hear them more. What I like about them is that I hear them perfectly but I don't hear where they are. I just hear that they're above me! Love em!

Do you think the atmos certification for the atmos speakers actually makes a difference? Right now I'm using 4 wall mounted Polk OWM3 speakers. I think they lack bass but I'm not sure how much bass you would get from little speakers like these compared to the rest of the components in a 9.2 setup. Love the mounting options of the Polks though. I've used a few different cheap options for atmos modules and haven't really noticed much difference. BTW I think the Canton's sound better because you're on that buyers high ;)
@Kpaceguy4 жыл бұрын
I do not. I just think they are constructed so that when they hang on a wall or ceiling or on top of speaker, they are angled the way they need to be to reach your ear. The only thing that you want to make of when using nontraditional atmos speakers is that they can be angled correctly and can play the majority of frequencies needed

K-Pace They're are no where near the same price point. A pair of Elevations will cost you between 4 and 5 hundred dollars for a pair. Those Cantons are $1500 a pair. They better be that good for that price point. That's ridiculous! 😒
