purchased it right when it launched. Been using it for last one year and i wholeheartedly agree with everything that's been said in this video. Its looks & performance are out of this world, especially for its price. This is the essential part for my 2 channel music system now. Majority of the Purist people always tells a sub is a BIG no when it comes to stereo listening. But one really needs to hear a properly tuned good sub in stereo. If one really wants to experience the detail and finesse in the lowest octaves with stereo systems then to achieve it buying this sub ($2000 definitely not cheap) is one of the cheapest way to achieve it.Period! Oh, and SB 16 ultra kicks ass to when it comes to movies too! :D

These subs rock agree. I’ve had velodyne for years and switched. Amazing. Just as good and even better. Velodyne is great their customer service and hard to contact is a huge flaw. Svs is good. Warranty also.

What a beast. I have smallest SVS sub PB-1000 and it knocks my socks off. I can't even imagine this in the house. Nice review, you do the best reviews. Your Sony X900E review was awesome. I have one now and all i can say is WOW! I am blown away everyday.

I have the Ultra, and have listened the pb4000. The Ultra is so much more smooth and powerfull especially on high volumes.

I think 4 may not be sufficient for any room larger than 100 sft. I went with total 8 of these in my 200sft media room. Planning to purchase 8 more when budget permits.

it doesn't matter I don't need sample demo I know this SVS subwoofer sound is not good as my subwoofers sound the 250 hertz sounds very good on my 15 inch subwoofer and the 250 hertz does not sound good on my 5 inch mid speaker so this means you should never play sounds lower then 250 hertz on your mid speakers Mihir Chitnis

Vinny Diesel is your tweeters at the same loudness as you mid speakers it sounds very good when the tweeters is at the same loudness as the mid speaker it clicks just right

Because this is really just an "overview" and NOT a "review". That and if you think about it is rather pointless in a KZbin video. As in most cases we're listening to a KZbin video, with limited sound quality through computer speakers. :) And that there is no substitute for going to a hi-fi shop or a buddy's home who actually owns one or more of this new sub...and hearing/feeling it in-person. Can't go wrong buying a SVS sub. I own one. The Ultra 13 (powered sylinder) which was at it's time SVS's best. Costing as much as a SB16. Something we gotta give SVS credit for...which is they continue to innovate and give us more sub...but keep the prices the same. I bought my sub maybe 9 years ago. SVS subs are one of, if not the best, sounding/performing subs for the money. Bettering IMHO anything Velodyne has to offer, and even monster subs like Wilson Audio's 7 footer. Not sure if that's still being made. if i were in the market for another sub (or two) it would be this sub. Easy decision. No hesitation.

I have received the first of 2 SVS SB16Ultra. The second will be delivered in the near future. I have a friend with very deep pockets who has 4 subwoofers in his home theater system. He and his wife giggle like little kids when they watch Science fiction and Adventure movies.I watched REAL STEEL on their home theater, it was AWE inspiring.

My friend has 4 Outlaw audio LFM- 1 EX. The PB16 Ultras were part of a home theater system. The SB16 Ultras were in a 2.2 channel audio system. In all 3 cases the BASS was PHENOMENAL!!!

that part with the glass on top of the box..yeahh that driver isn't really flying much back and forth...give it the beginning of edge of tomorrow and max it...then do that again to really test its rigidity ...i guarantee you SVS subwoofers vibrates A LOT!!!

like comparing a ferarri 458 italia to a dodge challenger hellcat. they are made for different people, the dodge is cooler (in my eyes) and makes more noise but the ferarri does exactly what it must do at the highest efficiency rate. If you need advice for buying im glad to help.

anthon, I'm looking for pro advise on my "final" home theater build for next year or so. I love the reviews for the svs 16 ported sub, but am unsure where to go for the other 5-7 speakers. klipsch, svs, martin logan. looking to spend up to 1,500 per speaker on the front 3 and 500 or so on each rear. any advise?

svs 16 it is not actual 16" driver.... but still amazing sub

Jensen made a Sub that was 36" bass speaker floor facing, in a wood cabinet. Electrovoice also made a unit called Bullfrog.. these babies had to be bolted to the floor because they do what frogs do best.. hop around. I think SVS is a over priced over hyped sub-par computer speaker.

Chris West adios not better than SVS not at home theater J audio is good for car audio and not even close to home theater for SVS it in a totally different ball game the ultra 16 is a subwoofer I have never heard you have to own it to know what I'm talking about
