Very helpful video, very straightforward. Just what a new SVT owner needs. It feels like putting the dust cover back on almost needs 3 hands, and I was flinching a bit trying to push the recoil spring rod into the catch before I let it go and hope it doesn't come out and whack me in the eye.

When replacing the dust cover, which hooks onto the recoil rod, there's no need to wrestle it in with your thumb. Simply push the spring forward, and place a 7.62x54 cartridge with the bullet nose in the recoil rod's dimple (which is what it's for), and with the back resting/bracing against the rear of the receiver. The length is exactly right for the cover to be hooked onto the rod; then you can remove the cartridge and let it back slowly.
