How difficult would it be throwing SVT rear brakes onto a SE sedan? I’ve got no how to’s anywhere.

It’s kinda a pain to be honest. I did a rear brake conversion recently on a zx3. I kinda wish I recorded it. First you need to replace the entire ebrake cable which means you need to drop the exhaust to get to it. Then you need to swap the hard brake lines going to the drum to flexible lines. It’s probably easiest to replace the entire assembly hub and brake. To get the assembly out it’s 3 bolts in the back side holding it on. I had to disconnect the lower arm and remove the rear springs to get easy access to it. Once the assembly is out just bolt the new one in and connect the lines and cables then proceed to bleed the brakes. Find me on Instagram and send me a message I will see what pictures I got.

I just got my svt and the difference iss the pistons are forged and some other stuff is forged too

That's because the svt is essentially the UK ST170 with a engine created by Cosworth

Not to mention parts for that motor are mad difficult to obtain. Thats not me bashing the car. Beautiful car and that engine has potential. Just a shame. Still want me a ZX5 SVT. Think my son and I would have a blast in one not to mention 4 doors for the family car excuse 😆

@@CasualGaming76 The 170PS 2.0-litre Duratec ST engine has been developed from the standard 130PS 2.0-litre Ford Focus engine with several new features, including: New, high-flow aluminium cylinder head with larger inlet valves and higher lift intake and exhaust camshafts for higher peak rpm levels Continuously variable intake valve timing High compression, cast-aluminium pistons and forged steel connecting rods Dual mass flywheel New dual state intake (DSI) manifold, using long runners for low-end torque and shorter runners for higher peak power outputs Larger bore free-flowing stainless steel exhaust system, tuned for enhanced performance sound. A new, high-flow aluminium cylinder head with enlarged inlet ports, larger inlet valves and higher lift intake and exhaust camshafts for higher peak rpm levels Continuously variable intake valve timing A new dual-stage intake (DSI) manifold that uses long runners for low-end torque and shorter runners at higher revs for better peak power output A 65 mm large-bore, stainless steel tubular exhaust system with less restrictive catalytic converters.

@@CasualGaming76 The only major differences between US / European cars is the base european 2.0 Zetec has 10:1 compression and IS an interference engine, instead of 9.6:1 and non interference, we do not have any EGR outside of 1.8 diesel models, S(V)T are identical, both have the cosworth 4-2-1 manifold and underslung cat converter europe didn't get the duratec (ST170 engine is badged as one though!) in a 1st gen body either since that was done by 2005 here ECU tunes might vary to account for US cars accidentally having 87 fuel used in them but im not sure? Standard fuel grade in most of europe is equivalent to US 91 so isnt really a mistake to be made over here, both revv out to 7350rpm fuel cut and behave the same as far as i can tell on youtube most regular 1.8/2.0 zetec parts are interchangeable with S(V)T parts as long as it's not VVT, head or IMRC related, sensors etc should all be the same pistons on none of these are forged, S(V)T rods are forged but still pretty skinny, cranks on all are forged, OEM headgaskets are MLS instead of cheaper composite thats about everything i remember?
Why the SVT focus is cooler then you might think.
