The problem is most young people can't find jobs in Ghana and even if they do the salary is not good enough so traveling to abroad is definitely attractive to them. As someone who has been living in Canada for almost 30 years, abroad has a lot of opportunities for young people, so I will recommend anyone to travel when the chance arises. At the same time, there's nothing like home(Ghana) especially when you're getting old. I always feel at peace whenever I go back to Ghana. Good interview overall

You guys are making some valid points but equally you are getting something wrong. Anytime I hear folks saying foreigners are coming to Ghana and they see Ghana as heaven, they are happy living in Ghana, but Ghanaians are complaining about the hardship and want to leave Ghana, don’t forget these foreigners are coming to Ghana with lot of dollars 💵 for vacation, some for business and investments, so why won’t they feel happy and enjoy Ghana?, how do you expect struggling Ghanaians who can’t even afford 3 square meal a day should wake up feeling Ghana is heaven, and they shouldn’t think of leaving ghana? The foreigners you talking about enjoying in ghana if they were also born and raised up in ghana, going through the same struggles like the ordinary Ghanaians, like they will also feel the same and have same mindset. We need to face the reality and stop beating around the bush. I live here in Asia, we have westerners coming to bali, Philippines, Thailand and other Asia countries for pleasure and business, they are very happy here in these Asia countries, but the citizens of bali, Philippines, Thailand are also wishing they can relocate to western countries. All these migration is due to economy hardships. Not only in Ghana citizens are complaining or hoping to relocate to advanced countries. Don’t forget you also one’s hoping to move to a better country, if you have managed to get there, enjoy the good things the leaders there have done , and keep your leaders back home on their toes to do what is right.

He said a lot of good things but along the line diverts... He said we can't always complain but couldn't also offer a solution... We don't make the rules so what can we do to change the system... America is heaven and land of opportunity.. The fact that there are other people who are there and doing badly doesn't mean they place isn't good... There are people who's parents are rich but chose to live the wayward life that doesn't change the fact that their parents are good...whatever he said i would have taken it if he is residing in Ghana currently. You can't tell me u want to move to Ghana and for 10 good years u haven't been able to plan to come to Ghana are you for real?? It's a matter of perspective though....

DJ nyame this issue of the youth not trying is make impact is not actually the case. The said new countries that are developing now have system that keeps company's and small business work and sustain. Governance is about creating, implementimg and most importantly monitor those policy implemented and for defect and corrections. Ghana is good but systems are not working. How is our court system, police system, fire service and so on. Good policies makes a country and make good people. If you claim people are coming tp Ghana, what is the financial stands. They have alternative like goimg back to the which country they come from. What alternative do we have. Dubai people never planned for the future it is the leadership that put measure and make sure they enforced those measures to affect both the rich and poor. Let's focus our attention on leadership. Period...

Talking about people should stop complaining about the problems or stop blaming leaders, I don’t get it, why do you have leaders ? You need to hold your leaders accountable, all those advance countries you guys move there enjoying the system there is because of leadership, not prayers or not by hope or faith. They have leaders who put up proper structures, create good system down for their people, when they leave those coming behind will continue from there, the blueprint has been put in place so that the future generations will come and take over continue from where their old generation left, so if you are saying we shouldn’t blame the leaders or stop complaining about the challenges we are going through then I don’t get you well. You should come again. Even countries that we see that they are advance with quality of life their citizens still complain sometimes and keeping their leaders on their toes. There should be checks and balances my brother. Some of you guys are into partisan politics, so you don’t like it when we criticise the government, you are living in a well structured country enjoying the system there, earning money, living quality life, instead of you to speak the truth to your leaders speak truth to power, look at what you are saying. Ghanaians are not asking the leaders to make them rich, no we asking for basic life that every human deserves, build good infrastructure for the people to make life convenience for the people, people should finish school and jobs should be available for them, good wages that can make them live quality life, old aged should get monthly supports from the government. Ghana naturally is richer than most of these advanced countries we running to, there should be no reason anyone should be poor in Ghana, small country, small population with numerous rich mineral resources, yet majority of the population lives in poverty, why? Only about 2 percent of the population are enjoying and benefiting from the resources, and you don’t think we need to complain or keep our leaders on their toes? You talking about going back to Ghana to do business, always talking about business so should all Ghanaians do business? Even the business you talking about look at the tariffs duties we pay at the port, do you know how many Ghanaian living abroad tried doing business back home and today their businesses have collapsed? My brother let’s face reality the issues about africa in general is big, not just what some of you come on air saying. We need to start all the way from the scratch, we need to change our governance system, we need serious house cleaning, a lot of things need to be fixed. Proper structures… reason why we shall keep changing governments and nothing with change is because we have been programmed in our mind that one’s you become a president or politician you going to be rich, so one’s they gain power the next thing is to enrich themselves and their families. But if we have proper institutions, proper structure, we change our system of governance, that’s when all these nonsense will stop. We have bad people also in other countries, but because they have proper system it makes it difficult for their leaders to mess up or steal money, can you try such nonsense in countries like china ? For sure you have signed your death warrants if you dare try to do that. We have a long way to go.

Abroad is far better than Ghana...it is not heaven on earth, and is true that it is not easy over there and it shouldn't be easy...because, it is not your country.. Moreover,Dj Nyami, is our systems which is not working..we have to start from somewhere, yes is true...but they are still in charge.... And our mentality of voting for them is also a problem..is time we put our youth in charge of governance to change our systems...

According to your story, you were doing ok in Ghana before traveling yet all your focus was to go to abroad and was even duped $4k. You've been able to travel, acquire citizenship which could enable you move in and out at will yet you are reluctant to comeback and settle in Ghana. Of course there's no heaven on earth but can you compare even half the opportunities Canada can offer you to Ghana? The opportunitiesare even non-existent here. Then you compare people who have made their pounds or euros or dollars and coming on a 2 to 6 week vacation and leave afterwards to people who have no work in Ghana. Smh Lastly, for me I will move to Europe or North America given the opportunity not just for my immediate self but pension, better future for my kids and the generations after.

This guys is confusing immigration with tourism… See, these kids only come to Ghana to have fun and go back to their various countries, that’s easy, that’s lively, that’s fun! Relocating is different, they won’t survive or enjoy it out here that long, they’ll pack and go back in a year.

The foreigners coming to Ghana they come with your own money to invest in Ghana. They didn't come to Ghana to work and get a capital to start investment in Ghana. So what about us who don't have nothing to start investment bro.? I swear if not ghanafuo living outside sending a foreign currency to Ghana .Ghana will be in hell

China is set up to prosper due to vision of good leadership.. a poor white or foreigners can not come to Ghana to prosper. You need your capital and planning. Why do you go back and management or invest in your dad's refinery business? Not everyone is a business person.. someone has to a doctor and some as business person.

Very true. Majority of Ghanian are in the struggle. They earn less then 800 ghc/month. Even as medical doctor, it is almost to buy a brand car or house. Majority of people live in slums. In Canada, even working on minimum wages, you are far better then someone in Ghana.

@@user-bs5qr5ie4s Don't we have second class citizens in Ghana. In every society, their will always be discrimination according to your sex, religion, sexual orientation, education, social status and income. Discrimination in Ghana is even worse than here. Can you sue the government in Ghana. In my previous job in Canada, they fired me cause I complained about my safety. I brought to the labor administration and they settled me the equivalent of 3 weeks pay so that we will not go to the labor tribunal or civil court. The maximum that I could get in court if I win was a 4 weeks pay but the court day will date up to 1.5 years. The job was lucky that we are not in the USA, you can sue your job for any amount. If people are living in Ghana, it is because Ghana has nothing to offer. Just look at the cost of living in Ghana.
