Since so many of you asked for it, here it is - the Rinnegan video! The Rinnegan is by far the most powerful dojutsu in the Naruto lore, so there's a lot to cover here. Buckle in boys, and let's get started.

Mr. Blue Is Too Smooth Nagato’s whole combat style is based around the rinnegan’s powers. Sasuke and Madara both have numerous techniques that are unique to them in addition to the rinnegans powers so much so that they should be beyond broken. Probably comes down to writers choice of keeping nagato unique and balancing out characters I guess

Remember the days of "Byakugan is stronger than sharingan" and having to actually use strategy and techniques? During the chunin exams, Shikamaru blew my mind with his awesome thinking process and talent. Now we get shit like this where 1 dude has the power to revive the dead, summon the god of death, control gravity, become a robot, absorb chakra, summon immortal gigantic beasts, and steal people's souls. Not to mention he controls dead bodies and summons a statue eventually used to destroy the world. Miss them days of strategy. ;c

Keep in mind, the byakugan is only superior in visual perception. Sharingan grants more abilities. Also strategies are still present, Shikamaru just so happens to be one of the best strategists in the entire series.

Awesomebawss well, byakugan was never better than sharingan. It was just the one aspect that the byakugan had over sharingan which was seeing chakra and field of view. But the sharingan was still actually better since it didn't only let you see chakra but you could copy others jutsu, create genjutsu and even have precognitive abilities. The byakugan doesn't have any of that which makes the sharingan better, overall.

Interestingly, the Human Path being able to suck out Souls could be a reference to the Cycle of Reincarnation, in which Humans are the only level of Samsara that can reach enlightenment and remove themselves from the cycle of reincarnation - by sucking out the souls, the Human Path is basically removing them from said cycle.

I think the reason Sasuke doesn't use Naraka path, Animal path, Asura and Human path is because he never saw it being used that's why he didn't have a chance to copy it. He saw Deva path, Preta and Outer from Madara. Thus was able to copy it. Nagato was guided by Obito before he started exhibiting any of the paths besides deva and outer (which I think are the default abilities) Madara actually made it part of Obito's training inside the finite tsukuyomi to guide Nagato to nurture the rinnegan abilities and practice yin-yang release(black rods). I think it is also implied(and another reason could be) that since Sasuke only have yin chakra the rinnegan's arsenal is not complete just like how naruto only had half yang chakra that he only got 9 truth seeking orbs that do not regenerate instead of 10. Not only did they get half the aspect of the hagoromo but also half the power of each of that aspect.

It's because Naruto already knows how to counter all of them. Think about it, he defeated Pain, who had WAY more experience using these abilities, all on his own, when he had to fight 6 individual people, while he was significantly weaker than when Sasuke fought him. On top of that, they use a ton of chakra, so that means Sasuke would have to ration them carefully so as to avoid exhausting himself. Seriously, think about it. How useful REALLY would shooting rockets at Naruto have been?

Well, those fuckers LITERALLY invented the Rinnegan, and literally 100% of the time they've had their own. Sasuke's only real useful ability is the one he has unique to himself, being able to swap places, which he uses to excellent effect. Once again, gigantic lava golem. Tiny rockets. OR, gigantic lava golem. Susanoo clad nine tails. Easy choice to me. The measure of how powerful an ability is really hinges on "how high up the pecking order can it smash". Wood style, when used by Hashirama at least, can go almost to the very top. However we saw its ceiling. Obito as the ten tails jinchuriki just fucking ignored that shit, then proceeded to wreck an entire army which was sporting what ALL of the abilities on Swagkage's original 5 hax list? Speaking plainly, the higher level fights in Naruto have just grown beyond the six paths of pain abilities. In actual fighting when you reach the highest level, it's less about big flashy moves, and more about perfection in execution. Unless you can start pulling Saitama shit on your opponent, you need to make a plan and execute it flawlessly while avoiding any pit falls or left turns your enemy throws at you. Naruto making a hundred shadow clones and dog piling someone works on lower level ninja like Mizuki. It doesn't work on higher level ninja like Kakashi. You can throw all the bodies you want at Kakashi, he's so good at fighting he knows how to make your numbers advantage useless. Numbers without coordination is a handicap.

A little addition to the rinnegan beeing able to resist the infinite tsukuyomi. I believe Sasuke applied the same resistance on his susano to shield more people from beeing affected by the genjutsu. So I guess you don't need to have the rinnegan personally as long as u have a friend with bonkers eyes to bail u out :)

I'm pretty sure the Chibaku Tensei is a mix between both the first and second ability of the Deva path. When you attract and repulse something at a constant rate in one spot to an atomic level it creates a black hole, I'm assuming the user then uses the repulsion or telekinesis ability to throw it around.
