Big Train sits down with Sons of Sin Author/Filmmaker Jose "Slick" Perez and Movie Producer Najee for this family-style interview in Camden's WCMD Media Studios.
"The street lifestyle might seem attractive, but most times it leads to chaos and destruction. Not to glorify it, but stories like this happen every day all across America, and this is no different..." "This is a Camden story, North, to be exact."
Jose "Slick" Perez
Loosely based on a true story, and the lives of Jose "Slick" Perez, and Najee, Sons of Sin is a movie that centers around events in Camden, New Jersey in the 1990s. Those that were around then know what's up. Slick, along with Thomas Freeman Jr, authored the best selling book, and with the help of South Jersey Casting, Supreme Cinemas, Sleepy Eye Productions, and Starving Artist Productions, they brought this thing to life on the big screen. Shout out to all of the talented actors, rappers, singers, production teams, soundtrack artists, extras, and all else who came together to make this thing a reality, selling out two theatres in Cherry Hill, NJ's Lowes Theater for the premiere and the after party at Essie's Restaurant and Lounge in Clementon, NJ. Special shout out to Demetrius Hill for all the tireless work he did to make this film perfect. For all those who think the city of Camden has nothing to offer but violent street crime, this movie proves the opposite because most of the artists featured in this movie, including actors, soundtrack artists, filmmaker, film producers or otherwise, either come from Camden, or are connected to Camden in one way or another. CMD STAND UP!
