Great Review! This just pushed me over the top and I ordered one of these. I agree with you on wanting my bikes inside of my pickup bed and not out back exposed to all kinds of stuff... including other cars bumpers.

I just received it today. Unit looks great... very well built. Unfortunately I am not able to use it right away as the locking arm that swings down in the middle must have been overtensioned. When I put in the back of my truck, and locked it in place, it cracked on the bottom. The good news is that I called up Swagman right away and they are going to send me a new part. I called and spoke to a human without having to dial any numbers, etc. He gave me his email and asked me to send him a picture and they would take care of it. I am bummed that the part broke, but those things happen. The customer service, so far, is excellent. Hoping to have the replacement part by the end of the week and use my rack this weekend.

Great review. My only hold back is that I’m planning to install a tonneau cover and searching online if there is a optional solution. Any thoughts on a solution besides disassembling the entire tonneau cover? Or maybe a product out there the works with a tonneau cover? I really like this setup but also like the tonneau when I travel and that’s pretty often and random weeks as plans surfaces.

just bought this. there is another downfall which is the locking mechanism on the skewer locks. they do lock but you have to fiddle with it to line up so that the locking mechanism can engage - at first I thought the lock was defective as it wouldn't turn. There are only two positions that will allow it to lock / unlock. It you get one of these be aware. I really cannot believe they would release it this way.

I'm curious about the brackets you have mounted over the rail of the truck box which hang over the side. I have a truck cap and want to mount my bike outside and paralleling the bed rails, wondering if the brackets on your truck would accompany such a rack. Andy

Are there Swagman options for front wheel carriers that attach to the rack, or are you securing the front wheels by throwing muddy tires/wheels in the cab?
