Saw the title and remembered a phrase a fishing fanatic mate of mine in Rockhampton used to say on most Monday mornings, "Yeah, went out to the Swains on the weekend...". He had a 23-foot centre console Aluminium monster with twin 200hp jobbies on the back. I spent a few weekends up Shoalwater Bay (CQ) way and around the Keppels in it.

looks good mate!! keen for the rest! heading up that way me self end of July doing a swains trip, never been up that way or fishing the ocean before, only ever in the murray for cod. Just wanting to know what kind of gear i need to be taking, I think the idea is to bait fish for red emperors or coral trout! just wanting any beginner tips for this type of fishing too, cheers

Benny hey mate, you can catch GT’s here in Brisbane, but the coral trout and red bass are pretty rare. The further north you go the more common they get 🍻🍻

And also Sammy what pro cure sent gels should I get for Bream and Flathead ? I was thinking of getting pro cure sent gel because it helps the fish bite the bait and lure more quickly and in the pro cure sent gel I was going to get the Mullet and Pilchard/Sardine for Flathead and the Shrimp Bloodworm mullet Pilchard/Sardine for Bream and Flathead Sammy do you think it is a good Idea to get some pro cure sent gels like this Sammy for Bream and Flathead ? William Atta hey mate, try using whole whitebait or pilchards cut in half, both bream and flatties will eat those. With the pro cure scent, I wouldn’t bother putting it on bait, but it works great on lures 👍👍 Hope you get a few🍻🍻

Isaac Griffiths because if your right handed and wind with your left hand you have your dominant hand working the rod and putting action into the lures. You also don’t have to swap hands after you cast 👍
