The Petersens

The Petersens

Күн бұрын

We have had the amazing opportunity to tour Ireland four times and, for a bluegrass band, it just doesn't get much more fun than pulling out your instruments and joining the locals for a jam session in a pub. After our third tour, we decided to add an Irish song in our show and Katie suggested the "Swallowtail Jig." Emmett wrote the interlude part you hear and it just put the icing on the cake.
Special shout out to our friends in Ireland who have taken care of us, cheered us on, and paid Katie's many parking tickets haha (we are looking at you Neil & Joan O'Rahilly, Pat & Kathleen Kelleher, the Lyons family, John Nyhan, and Ger O'Donnell).

That's the style Mama has taught all of them. Understated is much more tasteful than overplayed; one of the hardest musical lessons in this biz. When you get a solo then shine but otherwise support and be cohesive. They really know how to operate as a unit and it's always very tastefully done as is evidenced in their arrangements. Pros every one!

Wow wow and wow. Here is the song I have been longing for. Where Julianne really shins on mandolin. A song where all got an opportunity to bloom for a while. When mandolin and violin are tuned similarly I guess learning violin are less difficult for her and I like her taking the opportunity making that effort. The bonus video in the end was priceless. Here we really can see and hear how each one gives the other their space. By seeing and listen to this just makes me . . . happy. ❤️❤️👍👍🐐⛄🐣😀👍👍❤️❤️

Brilliant! Great music. A wonderful display of various talents: Julianne can fiddle? Katie can clog dance? Aaron Clark has a cruel sense of humor? . Entertaining and tickle-bone funny. Dull would he be of soul who could pass by a video so touching in its artistry without giving it a thumbs-up! It made me smile and I am a crusty, old hermit who makes the Grinch look like a charitable saint. Bravo The Petersens!

If anyone in the Petersen family reads this, I know this video was released over a year ago, but I went back today over my personal 'Liked Videos' in KZbin, and this one is in it. In fact, a lot of yours are in it. I like to hear old Irish music from time to time, and this one is I think from the mid-1800s. As I am of Irish-descent, watching this video of Swallowtail Jig once again was great - The music from everyone, and at the end, Julianne playing the fiddle while Katie danced the jig, was top-notch, and just plain fun...

That is no routine three-chord country song... almost a classical feel but completely un-ostentatious. (Spelling!?!?) And warm and beautiful, like all the Petersen's music. Bravo!
