I’ve been playing for 30+ years but didn’t know the name of this tune and was looking to relearn it/clean up my version. This video is beautifully produced, well tempo’ed and very cleanly and well played. Particularly enjoyed the slight grace note and emphasis on the last note in the uptempo version. Subscribed ☑️

I am practicing this piece daily and I have no idea how you get the part on the E string sounding so beautiful. Hope ill get there some day. Amazing performance :)

Thank you! The E string can definitely be tricky to get a good sound out of. It needs a gentle touch - make sure you're not pressing too hard (make sure you're sitting or standing up straight and then let the bow just rest on the string - the weight of the bow is often enough on the E string without needing extra pressure), and keep the bow straight and in the middle between the bridge and the fingerboard. If the sound is airy, your bow might be going too fast or too light, if it's screechy it might be too close to the bridge, if it's crunchy your bow might be too slow or too close to the fingerboard.
