Squirrel's make the best gravy. I like them smother fried in gravy over grits with a big cathead biscuit. Now that's eating high on the hog here in the south.

Gotta ask. What part of Mississippi are you from? Reason I ask during the early 1980s for several years some fellows and I made a trip around Calhoun City Mississippi. Deer limit was a buck a day. We only took 2 deer all the times we were there and the cook shot one of those when it ran through camp. But we met some of the friendliest and nicest people in the world. They sure made some old Oklahoma boys feel at home.

@@SpiritoftheOutdoors four counties south and a bit east. You know you folks got no rocks? You know that drives somebody from the Ozarks crazy don't you? Until I went south I thought picking up rocks was a national pastime. You know I couldn't hardly walk down there. I was so used to climbing up and down hills that all that flat ground threw me off balance. Most of the folks up here got cleft chins from hitting themselves in the face when we're going up hill and extra sharp heel spurs to likely catch us going down hill.

@@SpiritoftheOutdoors make you a deal. I'll sell you some rock cheap. You folks are in dire need down there for something to chuck at water moccasins and rattlesnakes. If nothing else you could carry it around in your pocket to show folks what it looks like or set a big chunk up in your yard for a curiosity piece. I might even help you import some dirt up this way. We scarcely know what that looks like. We could go into business together. Take care ole son. Luck to you.

Thank you for a refreshing view on batoning a knife . Knife reviews are so totally boring anymore cause you can bet money somewhere in there they are going to get a big stick and beat the hound out of the knife . I call it the "Caveman Test ".
