Well, you outdid yourself with this hilarious summary, Rob! :) But "Getting some aquatic Baba Yaga vibes" nearly killed me (by the way, she often actually lives in the forest swamps, so all this it very authentic)... :) And this cliffhanger is going to finish me completely, I'm sure. Such a cruelty - to leave us going mad about what happened, and not for the one week - for the whole two weeks! It's inhumanly, Rob, really, have mercy. :) Wanted to thank you and the guys for this session, but the only thought that is running through my mind now is "oh no, please, no-no-no, just not the TPK now, please..." If they're theory about the mask is true they should somehow trick Laethil into looking at it so he becomes obsessed with the mask and not becoming High Sorcerer to trying to kill Barudun and the Dickheads. This was really good. It's really funny and interesting when there is some kind of natural barrier that the party has to find some kind of creative solution to cross. Like the chasm and the rope bridge, and here the lake and the boat. It's interesting when they have no obvious solution handed to them, and they just have to come up with something, or choose among available options. I really liked Ben's realizing he could be a bat in daylight once he turned into one, and them making a boat.

Assuming this was filmed befire Christmas, Rob got everything he could possibly wish for there at the end. The only thing that could have made it better would be the party carrying a bag full of black powder or fireworks. For the fireball surge to come up with the whole party huddled together on a tiny raft in the middle of a swamp full of monsters is utter poetry. On top of that they have enough HP that it likely won't actually kill anyone so it's not just a bummer.
