Hi Bert. I'm enjoying your videos. I bought a Sea Eagle Explorer X. I got it out of the box last night and filled it with air. I'm having a problem getting the plug in without letting the air escape. Any tricks you can share?
@bertsadventures9974 Жыл бұрын
Hey Dennis! Congrats on your new Explorer. It sounds like you do not have the valve open properly to inflate. Simply push and turn the valve , I think counter clockwise a quarter turn. This will close it so the air doesn't escape. Then when you want to deflate push and turn again and the air will quickly deflate. I hope this helps!

I have the exact make and model kayak and I'm wanting to take up fishing with my retired dad. Do you happen to have an in depth overview video of your fishing set-up? My parents live up near Lake Gallitzin. I really enjoyed this video and have added this swamp location to my Must Kayak trip list.

Great video!Thank you for sharing! I just bought a 420X, And I’m wondering do I need to put the skeg on when I using a motor stroller? Thank you!
@bertsadventures99742 жыл бұрын
You may use a skeg when a trolling motor is installed, but I don't believe it is necessary. I have done that with, and without, the skeg and do not notice any difference in performance or turning.

That area reminds me of the hammock water areas in florida. Love the new setup with the motor. Great video.

Nice location.. I’ve done a bunch of fishing from the fasttrack since we last spoke.. river Thames in the uk.. had some decent Pike, Perch & Chub .. and a surprise 15lb barbel last Saturday! Only mod to the boat is to mount the seat up on a box to get into a better position.. and take an anchor! 👍
@bertsadventures99743 жыл бұрын
Nice! I had to look up what a barbel was. Never heard of them.

@@bertsadventures9974 they’re normally caught when people specifically target them .. and not that often on lures.. I was using a soft plastic cray fish.. just bobbing it along using a cheb weight.. the kind of thing you’d use for bass in the US and this one took it! 👍

I just found your channel and really appreciate the videos you are posting! Started watching your videos to get a better understanding of sections on the Schuylkill we've never been on because we are looking for two kayaks washed away by Ida. Had paid to store them at a home on the canal in Mont Clare and as you probably know all the homes on the water in that area were devastated by the flood. If anyone has seen or recovered washed up kayaks downstream from Lock 60, please reach out.

Hey Lisa! Welcome to the channel and I'm glad you like the content. I hope you find your kayaks and get back on the water. Would love to paddle with you some time! I live in Chester Springs.

Hi Bert,thanks for sharing all your adventures and experiences. I am thinking about buying the explorer 420. Do you know if they are saltwater resistent? Greetings from germany
@bertsadventures99742 жыл бұрын
Hey S.D., thanks for the comment. The Explorer is totally salt water capable. Like anything else, I would rinse it after using in salt water. If you plan to attach a trolling motor just make sure you get one that is salt water resistant, otherwise you will have problems.

How is the swivel seat and kayak for fishing in? I am looking to pull the trigger on a 350fx with the seat. I am hoping it is pretty stable, from the width it should be.
@bertsadventures99743 жыл бұрын
No problems at all and the 360 spinning capability is great. You will have to play with the seat placement and probably get a tiller handle extension, but it works great for me! Good Luck!

Another awesome adventure Bert! Thanks for sharing. Quick question, if you could only choose one boat between the 300 or the 380x which one would you choose? I know you have both 😉
@bertsadventures99743 жыл бұрын
I would probably pick the 380X due to the added hauling capability for multi-day trips and carrying gear.

Hi Bert What type of electric motor, battery and mounts are installed?
@bertsadventures99743 жыл бұрын
Hey Michael! I use a Minn Kota 30lb thrust motor with a Blue Top battery. I custom made the motor mount last year and there is a video on the channel that talks about it. I think it works way better than having the motor to the side like the Sea Eagle mount requires.
