Great content Mark. Really nice buck, can't believe he decided to walk right out in the open. Great call on hang location, even without back cover and the sun at his back, that tree saved your butt. Great job brother!!!!

Yes we all pay to keep these “ wild areas wild” I agree. Change your direction. “ if you already have a set” if it is your only set, you should have 2 approaches. And you should work on having 3 spots to hunt. The last being a “spot and stalk”.

Beautiful buck Mark. Congratulations again. Chest cavity filled up with blood forced him to expire. Lots to learn for the younger hunters in approaching an animal time wise. They’ll die if you leave them be and bleed out. What single bevel was that and it’s weight ? Had to be that Kudu type head you were using ?
@SwampNStomp2 жыл бұрын
That was the Strickland helix 100 gn. He died wuick though. He stood up after a few minutes and when I saw the death wag I knew he was done. That was him taking his last few breathes. But no reason to rush over there when you can see where he fell. Give him all the time just in case
@michaelrosa54102 жыл бұрын
@@SwampNStomp You played it perfect. You were shaking like a leaf and barely able to speak you were so pumped. So it resist rushing over, like i'd do, lol, you waiting, and allowed him to pass. I know you hated waiting, but that's the key. You knew you smoked him,so with that in you mind, it's easy to get down and blood trail. He was staggering a good 40 yards it looked like. He was in no shape to haul ass. That little B3 head did great.

I was using single bevel broadheads. It’s supposedly a thing that happens a lot. Since it cuts in contact and is razor sharp if you slip it between the ribs they don’t even know what happened. He felt a pinch and thought nothing happened. Crazy!

Congrats ! Maybe this will help, I use a Hawk crawler for my ebike. I use a steel ring that I placed on the handle of the cart, s carabiner to attach to the bike . I mounted a flat plate to the top of the bike rack that has a half circle that I had welded to the top of the rear of the plate , it pulls very well loaded. Will share pics if we can figure a way to contact.
@SwampNStomp2 жыл бұрын
Appreciate the input but no that doesn’t help. I don’t want a game cart. Just more bs to deal with. We always load em on the back of the bike and ride out. It’s easy when you have a helping hand, not when you are alone. In this case I didn’t want to gut it but if someone didn’t offer to help I would have gutted it and found a way to put it on the bike. This pst weekend I shot another and I loaded it on the bike by myself and road out with all of my gear. Most Florida deer just don’t weigh 170lbs like this one did lol. Thanks for watching! -Mark

Congrats, nice buck there. Surprised he took so long to expire with the double lung, so much for the 7 second rule. Say were you hunting out of the JX3? Also the hawk crawler cart works well with my ebike. I also have the same style cart as you used in this video, it does not work well. Around 10 mph or more it shifts side to side and tries to tip the bike over.

Can't believe people is living the 70s all over again, using those heads. That why we switched to 3 blades back then. Histor repeated again.
@SwampNStomp Жыл бұрын
It’s hard to argue with the fact that deer get deader when the arrow goes in further…. I’ve shot 2 animals this season, one with an expandable and one with a single bevel. The single bevel didn’t go 30 yds. The other one didn’t get enough penetration and he’s still dancing around the woods now. I’m a believer in both types of broadhead for different situations but I’m starting to lean more and more to high penetration setups.

@@eddiefirst9410 I’m talking about a situation that happened with the swamp n stomp crew and a buddy of mine at a wma. Also, where are you that hunters aren’t taking 100 yard shots? Maybe the place you/they hunt won’t allow a 100 yard shot but that doesn’t mean people don’t make them. Our land in GA has plenty of 100+ yards clear cuts
@charlieemike2 жыл бұрын
@@eddiefirst9410 also, I assume you mean a 100 yard shot in general, no one should be shooting at a deer at 100 yards with an arrow. Just to be clear.
@eddiefirst94102 жыл бұрын
@@charlieemike correct. With an arrow. In Florida. If a hunter sets up bowhunting 100 yds from you I can understand why you feel that way. But in reality he or you aren't going to shoot deer in front of one another. Lots of variables to that. It happens and most of the time unintentionally. Still against 100yd shots on whitetail. Levi probably won't take that shot.
@Marty-RR Жыл бұрын
That’s fl public land for you. I get absolutely disgusted hunting here. People did that to me almost every day last season. Just walk on top of me and go up a tree under 100yds away. Bow gun season dint make a difference.
