Good news with the tests guys, it s a bit strange seeing it smoke on start up though, maybe an idea to take it for an Italian tune up! blow out the cobwebs. Have fun!

Nice one chaps, nice to see it running and the checking process! Any chance you can go through the method for bleeding the clutch on the next car please? 🙂

Only had mine a few weeks - it's a £500 project car to use in our local BDCC events, but I'm going to drop the rear subframe to work on engine to get it ready (cambelt, head gasket etc) so your videos will be extremely helpful thank you! May try and post some videos of my attempts but they won't be as informative as yours!

Looking good, I would suspect the clutch release arm sticking due lack of use. It is a problem on the PG1 gearboxes. You could try spraying some releasing fluid onto the pivot points whilst someone pumps the clutch. (It might get better with use anyway). I think the best cure for the throttle cable is replacement as I think they are nylon lined. A sticking throttle cable makes them a pain to drive slowly in traffic and reversing etc. I changed mine and it made the world of difference.

@@DoubleDuckGarage Hi, Clutch change arm is a major job unfortunately. The manual says engine out, but there is a post on The T Bar Forum that shows you how to change a clutch with engine in and moving gearbox back as far as you can. So you would probably be able to change the arm that way. They do uprated ones with a grease nipple on them to stop it happening.

Hi Colin - we use PSCAN - it’s specifically designed for MG’s, Rovers and some related cars (more info here…… www.pscan.uk/features/eculist.html ). We also have Autel code readers but they are of limited use for MEMS3. (Scotty)

Fan at 105 might be too late , 97 would be safer for the head .
