A swan landed in the housing estate where i live at dusk..... the police and RSPB and RSPCA did nothing for the poor thing, he was very young probably just got chased off by mum and dad.....thanks to watching you guys i was able to approach him and pick him up, i popped a towel around him to stop him flapping in the car and drove him to the local reservoir...he was a good as gold and gave a little tail wiggle as he swam off.... i know exactly why you do what you do, the feeling i had after helping him was incredible.... you are an inspiration and a teacher 💕😊

It makes me really angry why dog owners can't use the amazing invention called the dog lead!!! No matter how well trained a dog is when the instinct kicks in it will attack a prey species but if its on a lead it can't get at things the same but off course dog owners are lazy & if the dog is on a lead you have to walk it further then if its off a lead running around.

I couldn't believe when I found out how much the government protects violent dog owners. If you set your dog on someone else's dog or livestock deliberately you only get a £2000 fine for it. I've been attacked several times and the gov does nothing so I just dont go to parks or beaches anymore and stick to roads. 50% of children get attacked by a dog at some point. 5m attacks per year in the USA. And yet it's not a big issue for politicians.

Part of training is trusting them at some point, and expecting them to fail. Even the best trained dogs will have moments of forgetfulness. There’s a public pond by my house that geese love to swim in.(sadly no swans) It always makes me upset when I see people walking their dogs without a leash. The dogs try to chase the geese and it scares them. Luckily, I haven’t seen a dog get a goose, but it’s still stressful for the geese to have a dog chasing them into the water. Had little to do with the evil of humanity, hun. This was the work of a dog with a natural prey drive. This is nature at work.

@@fructosecornsyrup5759 to extend your opinion somewhat, EVERYTHING AND ANYTHING that happens under the sun is nature at work INCLUDED thoughts, emotions, having a concience and sharing publicly ones demeanour. I really don't care if it's nature at work. I NATURALLY emphasise for the underdogs in kife be they animals be they human. I'm just responding to my nature. Hi from Italia

@@lorenzonotarianni1667 🤷🏼♀️ Kind of hard to read in between lines when I'm not a mind-reader and can't see body language. Text really only goes so far. I know it's human compunction to root for the underdog. Honestly in regards to that it's what makes humans actually _good_ in most regards. Italy's a pretty place, btw. Greetings from America. 🇺🇸

Beautiful swan ... so glad you were able to bring her in for care. Does chasing them so much put them at more risk? I know you all know what you’re doing, but I just wondered about that.

Many thanks! We are always careful with how much we 'push' a rescue. The reactions of the patient are checked constantly and we will always pull back, go slower or even come back another day if the situation requires it :)

@@wildlifeaid Thank you so much for explaining that part of the rescue. I knew you all know best on how to rescue. You guys really put yourself out there and as an avid animal, bird lover I really thank God for people like you. Thanks for replying back so soon.

I adore the fact that giving Jacob a hug after delivering the spare propeller was a vital step in the plan

Two swan rescuers from somewhere in England do have a British accent. Also in England they Drive their car as of right hand drive, along with Australia, Asia, Japan, and Philippines as well as Korea do have every motor vehicles does have a steering wheel on the right instead of the left side.

Whenever I'm near a lake with my dogs I never let them off the lead. I guess common sense isn't so common.

The word 'common sense' on that note is kinda humorous, ain't it?😅

Many dog owners are irresponsible and non trained dogs. But hey "my dog doesn't do that".

@@TheBooban well they should train it then or just not get a dog if they can’t handle the responsibility

I think it's wonderful the care you give to these swans and to this one in particular. The swan seems to know you're helping and puts up with the human contact. Thanks for sharing this rescue; I hope the swan can avoid another attack.
