My buddy Jason preps his 2006 Suzuki DR 650 for the upcoming off road adventures we have planned. The long to-do list includes; removing some weight & safety switches to eliminate failure points, lowering the foot pegs, protecting the case from the foot levers, installing a seal retainer, putting thread locker on the Neutral sensor switch & a few others.

I have a 2022 model, one of the things that bothers me about these bikes is the high front fender that lets the front tire throw dirt and mud and debris straight up into your engine cooling fins... We need a mod to lower the front fender down so we can put a mud flap behind it and keep our engines clean while riding. Great video, thanks for posting it.

you might consider a front fork brace just above the front tire and move the fender to it.... that is what I plan to do for my XR650L.... but ran out of money to do it ! ...poverty sux ! LOL

Hey, dis you fix the neural sending unit Bolt issue or this issue no longer existes ? Because i am thinking of getting the 23 model but this is concerning for me as i would have to void the warranty to fix it....

The synth music is haunting, I love it. I had to do the same grinding on my lowered foot peg mount and the brake lever(DR650). Then later, I changed to the warp 9 brake lever with a needle bearing on the axle of the brake lever. I didn't notice much difference, it just looks cool. I truly like it when I see someone do a similar modification to what I have done or sometimes, I will steal your modifications. I suppose I am so old, it doesn't hurt my pride to steal mods. Really, the synth music is cool. "Texas on the prairie" feeling the groove

Procycle case guards and some high temp rtv is a good way to prevent the shifter from punching the case when you eventually lay it down

He designed them in a CAD program and had them cut out on a water jet.

I just traded my KLR for a 2018 DR! I believe Jason said mine (and yours by extension) should be all set on both the neutral fasteners and the output shaft seal retainer. I think they fixed both a few years before ours were made.

Yes but theres a mod of a better 3rd gear pinion out but its over £500.

Had 2 3rd gear failures in my 2011 loved the bike hope other dr 650 riders have had better luck
