Which is why I’m hoping we get male skins for them in the future. Invasions are already done now. I had a theory that they would do one for Sektor but they would keep him male since the original Sektor would want to convert every human being into a machine. And he would have to make for it. But it does seem like they’re retconning them into being female in classic timelines too given how we saw chaos versions of them from Havik’s timeline being female which makes no sense since this Havik is meant to be from a classic timeline.

Sexism aside, Ive been playing MK since MK4 and I genuinely do not understand the Sektor Cyrax love. Gameplaywise they are identical (Actually Cyrax animations are cooler and more fluid and has a fighting style distinct from from Sektor and everybody else. Both their kombat style before was more stiff robot chops), storywise Cyrax and Sektor have always been super bland and lacking in personality in my opinion. Like yes, I get the cyborg ninja thing is cool but that seems more like the cyborg ninja is the draw rather than Sektor as Cyrax as people/characters. So them having an expansion dedicated mostly in part to them to flesh them out seems like an overall improvement. So help me out here, what am I missing?

@@DreamyShyShy I'm not sure what a lot decision is, I'll assume its a typo but I'm not saying being against gender swapping is sexist OP calling them Sektorina and Cyraxia gives some sexist vibes, as in intending feminization to be demeaning. By gameplaywise they are identical I mean this version of Cyrax is identical to the gameplay of Cyrax in past games, both set up characters with bombs while the Sektors lean more into zoning. They are identical to their respective counterparts. You're kind of taking what i say in the worst context. Now when I say they seemed bland with little personality, everything you just described is things that happened to (mostly) Cyrax and Sektor, nor who they are. I'll give it to you that Cyrax got more development but we don't remember Cyrax for his personality or personhood. Heck they spent the last few games not having one due to being robots/androids (I'd hardly call them actual cyborgs). Most people won't even remember Cyrax's journey as its been several games since they've gotten actual spotlight. The important bit is here; Sektor forces Cyber initiative, Cyrax is against it, Cyrax gets forced into being a robot and by some means of the other characters regains enough consciousness to want his humanity back, all very cool but let's be honest the cyber initiative has been a side plot for years now and the main story had run its course so they're doing a reboot. That is a whole other discussion to be had but we're focusing on these two for now. So what has been done with them? The gender swap; I honestly do not care a bit, one way or the other. They're the same characters, who cares what's in their pants. The romance; also neutral but leaning towards positive, from a writing standpoint I totally get it. They had a story expansion almost all to themselves (very positive, the characters we supposedly like are getting spotlight and are more likely to stick around for more games). The romance between Bi Han and Sekto makes perfect sense because of their shared vision and enabling each other and this is a way writer's add emotion to stories, I wouldn't care if this was between male Sektor and Bi Han but we a know that ain't happening. There was not a single way this story could have gone where the connection between Bi Han and Sektor either wasn't a romance or male Sekto looking like a Bi Han meatrider. Also adds a lot more depth to Bi Han becoming Noob since Scorp already forsook him so why would anyone care unless someone cared for Bi Han as Bi Han? So yeah as a writer I get it. Cyrax romance; just a small detail that adds depth to Cyrax's betrayal, especially on the eve of a wedding and puts more depth into her seeking redemption (oh look Cyrax on a redemption type journey, same character). Gameplay/Armor; I've said it a bunch the cyborg ninja thing is cool but they could barely be called cyborgs, their fighting styles were very stiff and generic but in this game Sektor fights stiffly as the armorer/artilerist while Cyrax is very fluid. They game them an actual style distinct from both each other and everyone else whilekeeping their origin playstyleand movesets, super positive love it. Its at that point in MK9 where they were using gadgets and I hope they make them actual cyborgs like MK11 Frost instead if robots later. So it's only true that they've "thrown away these characters" if you're dismissing them incorrectly mind but here they are same characters with more personality (due to not being robots), improved visuals, same but visually improved styles and more story importance, yeah that what good they did with them.

Smoke was lowk done dirty this dlc, he got one line and was beat by Cyrax and that’s it. I’m pretty sure Yuri wasn’t even doing the motion capture like he did in the main story because Smoke’s face looked weird compared to the main story

This makes me more sad given that we will probably never see the male versions appear playable on a roster for at least another decade. The real Sektor and Cyrax have not been playable since MK9 and fast forward to now and it’s been 13 years only for them to be NPCs in MK11 and then turned into kameo only characters in MK1 and then having cheap copies take their place on the main roster with a disappointing story expansion that was not worth $50.

The price is fair though the expansion is a bundle when you think about it, the character pass is minimum 30 and the dlc story is 20. Not to mention all the free skins that will cost 5 each to anyone who doesn't own khaos reigns. The Only thing that bugs me is the "Early access" we have rn for sektor cyrax and noob. I'm hoping it's just a week for y'all but if not that is genuinely terrible

Their both 2 hours long at least and comparing playthroughs from different content creators they both take close to the same amount of time, again maybe like a 10 min difference. Ending I will agree should have showed havik and he should have had another phase or something. Plus I do have problems with the story mode, price is not one. It could also be 15 since I'm not sure how they would have sold the character pass since year 1 had them 8 each. So the pass is either 30 - 35.

I gotta admit that MK1 Sektor is now my favorite version of the character. From her Kombat prowess, to her interactions with plenty of characters. She-Sektor is awesome.

They are good characters, they knew how to give them a good personality (Cyrax is my favorite) but I don't think they will appear in Mortal Kombat 2, I think they will probably say something like the name "cyrax" and "sektor" are ninja ranks and that both will be replaced for the originals. How curious that the 2 most controversial characters when the game was announced are the two best in the DLC, literally they were what rescued that bad story.

I do not mind the change. Female Sektor caring for Noob Saibot was cute. I like Cyrax as well. I do wish Noob could stay in that form but keep his personality instead of being fully fixed. It would be great if he became a lethal protector which is what I thought it was heading. Part 2 was fairly short. I liked it but I feel like they could have done more as there were more characters in the first part which got nothing. It was cool seeing Noob head in to battle Havik instead of fleeing like most would.
