It’s looks like you got a gold vermil piece. They have sterling silver under the gold. You should be able to bring it back by polishing with the cloth they sent. ❤

Too make your jewellery shine use a jewelry polishing cloth to help remove tarnish which is mainly on silver jewelry and vermeil pieces you can also use baking soda and dish soap and hot water in aluminium foil to remove tarnish from your silver pieces if theres a lot of tarnish and always have a polishing cloth with you it helps to clean your jewellery and remove tarnish and makes it shine

It sounds like you don't know the difference between gold vermeil and solid gold and gold plated. Gold vermeil is silver with a thick layer of gold on top. Solid gold is when the jewellery is made entirely out of gold which can be hollow or solid and you can get different karats ranging from 9k to 22k or 24k which is 100 gold. Gold plated is a thin layer of gold on top of brass. Gold filled is a thicker layer of gold which is mainly used with silver jewelry. Hope this helps.
