This is the perfect example of 'things happen at the time they are meant to be.' There is a clear contrast in the costume, jewelry, crowns, setup, vfx, the acting in the pilot episode and the actual episodes. It was delayed for a good cause, all the elements got better except for Saurabh Raj Jain, cause he is the best. Thanks to the production for this lovely show.

After the orginal Mahabharat by shri BR Chopra, it was not at all easy to replace an entire cast in a way that the entire epic reaching a new level of creativity. After Nitish Bharadwaj, who dipicted Krasna near to perfection, Sourabh altered the entire perspective of beloved Krasna to new height❤ thank you for this amazing series

Just realized how important is casting for a serial. I always thought that it was the bgm which made it more impactful. Even with same music, the scenes seem missing. I can't compare the same scene with Arpit and Shaheer as Duryodhan and Arjun. They nailed the roles. Shaheer is the best arjun for me. And costume plays a big role. Even with my favourite Saurabh raj jain, this Lord Krishna looks more like a KING. The modified costume helped in radiating his aura perfectly. So the key is perfect casting then costume then music.

I am amazed by how a simple crown in krishna's head creates huge difference. I still remember the crown of krishna that has about three layers creating a solid gold vibe. That crown was a part of krishna. While this one looks crown is wearing krishna. My eyes keep going on to this crown instead of saurabh and his words. In addition, peacock's feather was more visible in the regular crown while this crown hides it unless we specifically look for it.❤

A decade has passed. But still in that era. Parth's bond with Madhav, Droupadi's sakha Govind, Pitamaha Bhisma, Mamasri Shakuni calling lovingly "mere bachhe Duryodhan", Mitra Karn, Abhimanyu's veerta, & most importantly Vasudev Krishna's interaction with darshak, nothing in Indian television can ever create the magic that this show had created. I know, it's not going to be easy to bring back the same cast again, but do try your best. They are not just characters, they're an emotion! I started reading Indian Scriptures lately and one day I just ended up with the recommendation of Mahabharata Round Table on KZbin. I started watching Mahabharat. I take it as a sign from Krishna to begin with the path of enlightenment. The gyan that Krishna rendered to Arjuna was being received by me. My questions were answered. It holds so much relevance to the contemporary context and lives. It all happened because of your efforts Swastik Production. Saurabh's dialogues has taken a bit of speed. And also the charm on his face is not visible because of his Mukut. Moreover they didint focussed on their same dialogues which were used in previous season. Arjun said " M is nihatte shri krishn ko chunta hu " , seriously?? Last time Arjun clear said " Mai apko chun nhi skta, sirf yaachna kr skta hu " There's a lot of difference.

I have no words for Sourabh! I’m 20 yrs old now and I’ve watched Mahabharat with my dad many times! Growing up watching something about my culture amused me. Rather it’s Devon ke Dev or Ganesh or Hanuman or ashok or whatever. Mahabharat was my first. Every time I watched this show it felt so real. And seeing Sourabh sir as Krishna just fits right. Even though we don’t know how Krishna or any Devine looks like he is the one that can make Krishna look how he does. That glow, the words, emotions, smartness, playfulness, care, etc etc all coming from him fit Krishna Bhagwan. The first parts where he gives a lesson depending on the episode always relate to real world. As a kid this was the best way to learn. And to see actors so into their characters made this better. Mahabharat couldn’t have been what it is without them and the story ofc. 💗

Many scenes are unrealistic,just like it's going on a daily soap drama. But now I have leaved all this stuff 😢 because of now all makers,producers doing such kind of things with real stories. Unwanted changes and irrelevant scenes. At the end i watch this Mahabharat only because of Sourabh Raj Jain. He did very good with Shri Krishna's role.

I am sailing back to that 2013-14 times. So nostalgic to reminisce those good old days of watching Mahabharat. I realize the fact that it's just the pilot episode but it's making me so grateful that Swastik Productions finalised the best of the best actors as it's main cast. While watching this now, it reminds me of the expressions and dialogue delivery of Shaheer Sheikh when he said "Madhav main aapko chunta hu".... that intensity & devotion in his glittery eyes with the satisfaction in his smile.... how beautifully he had pulled up the character of prince Arjun ❤. This Mahabharat will remain forever afresh in my fondest memories. 🙏💐

Tbh, I liked the pilot episode a lot too! Yes, Arjun and Duryodhan, both characters were played by different people (not Shaheer and Arpit, as we have seen in the serial), but they were good in their performance. Duryodhan displayed the level of arrogance as it should be, and on the other hand, Arjun displayed devotion to Shri Krishna, in this pilot episode. And ofc, no words for Sourabh Raj Jain. I started loving Krishna only after seeing Sourabh Raj Jain in Mahabharat. So I just want to say, do not compare this with the original serial. So so Glad that it came in 2013...cuz everything including the portrayal of scenes , the Cast , the costumes became Absolutely PERFECT in the final version( except the gem Saurabh Raj Jain...who was always perfect for the role ) The delay might have upset the producer but that delay gave us an Eternal MASTERPIECE ❤

I would say this masterseries has definitely aged after its pilot episode. Maybe the universe conspired to give this series time. The change in actors, the acting style, CGI, VFX, the colors, costumes, and sets ineffably changed the series altogether. This change has led to the excellence of Mahabharat. Classic at its best.❤

It’s been 10 years but I still feel whenever I watch it I find something new to learn and get a better understanding of the characters. It’s been played on repeat as far as am concerned.I cannot explain how I like each and every character of the show and they have lived the characters and they are not just playing or acting. It looks like they are it. I wish I could personally attend the makers and Artist. How amazing job they have done how much effort has been put, and it is visible. The kind of effort has been put.

@@anraws_s8311 yes they conducted a grand audition after this. The director once said Saurabh as krishna was fixed from beginning but he was not satisfied of other main cast. One day he reached the sets of NAVYA serial (his another serial) he was thinking about arjun and then he saw shaheer talking to someone. He was like I searched arjun everywhere not in my own shooting set. They called him for audition and he passed the rounds. once he was fixed he immediately got his yudhistir (rohit who played shaheer's brother in Navya). After that they asked both of them to gain weight. After that they had a screen look test . then they grabbed the roles. Karna (aham sharma) was also casted at the last cos he was not satisfied with others who auditioned for the role. Once karna got fixed he immediately got his duryodhana.

By over acting..maybe his director wanted it...but couldn't watch that serial at all... I love prabhas action films but still he didn't do justice to Karn
