This confirmed everything I thought...there is no way I need any new makeup this year (or maybe for the next 5-10 years)! I can't imagine needing any other makeup (especially eyeshadow) this year. Definitely doing a no buy this year! Might need to replace some mascara - but that's about it.

That's so insightful! Thank you for putting this together. It's crazy how we're tricked into buying the same colors over and over again. On one hand I want to destroy all my palettes and depot the shadows, on the other hand I have to destroy all palettes... I always wanted to start a "look up table" with pictures of every shadow I own swatched on my lid, on my arm, in the pan and in the promo pictures to stop me from overbuying.

This was so interesting!! It was like makeup anthropology for me. Lol Because I only have singles, I pretty much only have one of each shade, with the exception of a couple of my staples that I might want in more than one palette at the same time (e.g. I have two matte blacks, two matte cream shades, two shadows that work as my perfect transition color). I love seeing people's different types of collections, and how they buy and use makeup differently than I do. This was really fun! Thank you for sharing, Sarah! I'm excited to see the colorful collection next. 😁💜🌻

It’s so interesting to me how different shades can look on different skin tones. I’m pretty much the fairest of the fair but very pink and I have a lot of the same shades as you but they look completely different on me.

This is a GREAT idea!! I've cross-duped my palettes so I could declutter and be sure I wasn't going to miss anything, but now I want to swatch every shadow this way, even the ones I haven't dipped into, (some 12-pan palettes I bought for maybe 4 shades, etc.), and then declutter again 🤔 I like the 4th black the best, but with my hooded eyes, I better stick to coral/cerulean 😆

Wow! Great job on this video! I’m mostly a neutral lover, especially cool tones and definitely tend to buy similar palettes over and over. I bought the Color Pop Stone Cold Fox and even though I usually don’t love large palettes this one knocked my socks off and I feel like I can declutter several because it’s so comprehensive and high quality. I’m also working on building up singles. One I will never get rid of is Wet n Wild Walking in Eggshells...I too LOVE that pink. Thank you for the work you put into this video!!

Thanks for posting. I've done this with all my eyeshadows recently too. I've tried to organise by colour and finish then swatch everything out to remove duplicate or similar shades. Most of my collection is Colourpop so no surprises but lots of duplicate browns, taupes, pinks and even yellows and blues. But it's been interesting to swatch my fixed ABH palettes Norvina and Sultry and see what similar or unique shades they have. I'm excited for the colourful video next!

Wow I recently watched Hannah Louise Postons' video about bronzes and how different people perceive bronze so differently and now I realise that is SO true hahah. Her bronzes were in your taupes/browns and your bronzes are her coppers/oranges

This was soooo satisfying. haha. More than anything, I'm struck by how many of the same staple shades are in basically every palette. I mean, they're staples for a reason. HOWEVER, it also makes me wish I just had one 6-9 pan palette of those staples, and that all the rest of the eyeshadows in all my palettes were awesome, unique shades with little overlap. lol. Great idea, your poor arm, and I'm also LOVING the makeup look! Was this Sultry on the eyes and Tea Rose on the lips? haha. Can't wait for part 2!

I love this! I've actually been wanting to do this as well so I can refer to when I want to buy something since I'm on a low buy this year and eyeshadow I have strict rules if I want to buy something As for the blacks I think it's 2,3,4

I wouldn't have thought that the noir shade can look different in both abh palettes! i have to say i enjoy the look of noir in soft glam, it looks very rich compared to the one from sultry (at least swatched out)

I just did this but with my highlights and blushes so I could see which ones would be good to pan or declutter in the future if they were too similar. I also did this with all my color shadows, but I’m realizing now I didn’t do my neutrals 😅 Feels like it would take forever

Hi. What I did was for e.g. the cream colours, I broke all the shadows up and put it all in 1 container and I then bought a z palette with empty pannes. I then repressed some of that cream shadow in 1 pan and stored the rest in the container. When the pressed one is finished, I just repress some again into my empty pan. I mostly did this when I had 2 or more colours that looked the same. Also if for eg I had a blue I love and 1 to light and 1 to dark, I mixed all 3 together and repressed. That way, no colour goes to waist and it was a lot of fun. I alsi created colours I knew I loved and would use.
