thats the point it shows they were interested in her playing the role of cookie. Olivia LaBorde
@OliviaLaBorde9 жыл бұрын
Previously she said she was "offered" the role as if cookie was her role. Actors are considered for roles then it falls through all the time. The email states She didn't even come in to screen test . If you google you'll be amazed how many actors were considered in your favorite shows/movies.. But they never start a public campaign to talk about. It's the same thing as being asked for an interview and they give someone else the job before you come in. I understand her disappointment since the show is so popular but taraji and the chemistry she has w Terrance makes the show. Hopefully she will have closure one day.

How is she salty for bringing proof to clear her name??? They defamed her name to a whole different level, Lee and them might've turned white people who didnt even know her, off from even wanting to work with her. She had every right to bring it. On another note... I miss the fire spitter Monique. She used to really turn these interviews out and have everyone dying. For like the past 3-4 years she has been so deep into being serious and having oprah moments.. I get it, we are brothers and sistas.. but sometimes its good to just chill and shoot the shit with the people around u. Its hard to explain but I miss that energy from her.

I am really happy to see more diversity on TV but Lee Daniels definitely has an agenda. His agenda is not always uplifting people of color. Monique may have lost a few job opportunities but going forward, she is probably better off away from his projects. Like a lot of Hollywood people, he can't be trusted. Hopefully if she is difficult, she can calm down or if someone in her camp like her husband is the problem, maybe get a new manager. She will be fine.

Curtis Charles Flood (January 18, 1938 - January 20, 1997) was a Major League Baseball (MLB) center fielder who spent 15-seasons in the major leagues playing for the Cincinnati Redlegs, St. Louis Cardinals, and Washington Senators. Flood was an All-Star for three seasons and Gold Glove winner for seven consecutive seasons. He batted over .300 seven seasons. He led the National League (NL) in hits (211) in 1964 and in singles, 1963, 64, and 68. He also led the National League in putouts as center fielder four-times and in fielding percentage as center fielder three-times. Flood retired with the third most games in center field (1683) in NL history, trailing Willie Mays and Richie Ashburn. Flood became one of the pivotal figures in the sport's labor history when he refused to accept a trade following the 1969 season, ultimately appealing his case to the U.S. Supreme Court. Although his legal challenge was unsuccessful, it brought about additional solidarity among players as they fought against baseball's reserve clause and sought free agency.

It all came down to Monique not thanking the producers, director, and studio when she got the oscar. Monique also refused to promote the movie by going to Cannes film festival because she wanted to spend time with her family. Actors have to make the studio happy, period. So sad though because she is a phenomenal actress, I cannot believe she only got paid 50k for precious. What she said about patty Arquette saying the same thing she said really struck a chord with me. Reminds me of Hillary Swank talking about wage inequality on Chelsea.

On The Breakfast Club, she was clearer in explaining the history that she and Lee Daniels had in regards to roles. Once he offers her a part, which he did for Shadowboxer and Precious, it was a done deal--no audition. With Empire, because it was television, Lee said they later told him she needed to test, that it wasn't a given. The issue came when he co-signed Danny Strong's statement, which was not the whole truth. I have even more respect for Monique now.

Let's be honest. I'm not saying Monique isn't attractive in her own right or not talented, but Taraji was a WAY better choice than Monique. First, her and Terrance's on screen chemistry was already established in Hustle & Flow. Second, she's had a lot of momentum in her career lately and her acting chops are amazing right now. Third, she is gorgeous.

Yeah had Monique been chosen most likely Wesley Snipes would have played Lucious since he was Lee's first choice. The show would have been a hit, but I doubt it would have made this much noise had they stayed with Monique and Wesley.

Caramel Kitty I think it would've. Terrance is not really comparable to Wesley in terms of ability
@luwakw019 жыл бұрын
TheSizNation I hope people understand that Taraji getting the role is besides the point. I think Taraji is best for the role, too. Several people may have been offered that role, and we may never know. And Taraji got it. Thank goodness, because I LOVE me some Cookie.....but that's not Mo'Nique's point. The rumor she's trying to clear up currently makes her look like she's a divisive, lying, troublemaker. It makes her look even worse because it sends a subliminal message that she can't be happy for her fellow woman. Look at this comment you just wrote--it's entirely dedicated to saluting Taraji, when she NEVER said anything bad about Taraji. It's a good thing Mo'Nique cleared this up, otherwise we would be looking at her like a bitter woman who can't be happy for someone else's success....like a hater, which she absolutely is NOT.
