Hi Pilgrim Paul! A fellow walker told me about you this morning when he came in for cake and a coffee. I have Pebbles Cafe and Crafts in East Portholland. Unfortunately I was closed when you were here. Just so you and viewers know, I open at Easter and close at the end of September (open some days in October mid-week if we're blessed with fine weather!). During Easter and October I'm open every day from 10 am except Fridays (closed). However, the cafe is part of my home so if I'm here I'm always happy to open up if I'm normally closed to make a cuppa if anyone lets me know they're coming. After the walk from Portloe I know a cuppa is always welcome!!

Hi Jayne. Thanks for sharing that. I’ll pin this comment so it will be more visible for people watching the video.

Great walk. I'll be walking there next year. It is lovely to see sheep again. Have not seen sheep along the whole of West Penwith nor The Lizard. Sorry you missed the views. I hope I am luckier when I get there 😊 Thank you for sharing. Always enjoyable to watch your videos 😀

It may have lacked the views at Dodman Point but it was very atmospheric. The hill up to it would have been even harder in the heat.

Big moment for me as a viewer this video. We have now crossed paths in our journeys. So il now be watching you on sections I've done. Very exciting.

Nice one again Paul. Enjoyed that, you are continuing to tempt me to coastal walking. Looking forward to the next one as it's a little bit of coast we walked back at Easter when we were down there for a wedding.

Well you know my thoughts on the coast path. The next day was a much shorter walk to Par but there were still some big climbs.

I've finally caught up with your vids Paul. Brilliant stuff again. My first ever experience of the SWCP was from mevagissey to Charlestown in 2013. Only 6 miles but it was 30 odd degrees and it was before we really got into long distance walks. I was a broken man after! Looking forward to watching the next installment.

It’s surprising how tough the path can be and the weather can make a huge difference. I feel like a broken man at the end of each day but am always eager to carry on by the morning.

Hi Paul, I remember this stretch very well. We went from Mevagissey to Portloe and this was the first day of my first multiday walk ever😀 We had glorious hot weather so had to take a swim at Vault Beach. The day ended with multiple blisters and total exhaustion.😅 Still love walking in England though and especially the SWCP. But I’ll keep to «slackpacking» Looking forward to your next vlog.

It’s quite a tough stretch for your first day. Most of us start with Minehead to Porlock which is quite gentle after the initial climb out of Minehead.

Another thoroughly enjoyable film, Paul. You have seamlessly edited your film of this walk making it look like you've got a whole documentary film crew with you; you haven't have you? You combine your commentary with some well chosen music and thoughtfully considered views and information. The pace is just right. I really want to walk this section now. Thank you for sharing.

The climb out of Hemmick beach is a doozy for sure.

Absolute killer. I think the mist helped hide how far I had left to climb.

Shame about the mist at Dodman Point. We passed there a few weeks before you, but a large party was sitting on and around the cross having a picnic, so no photo opportunities for us either 🤣. Great video as always.

The mist was so localised to the top of that headland. At least it kept me cool on the climb up.

Do you know the artist Dustin Tebbit Paul. Might be some good music in there for your videos. Another great video. I did Veryan (Air B&B) to Goran Haven. You did well to get to Pentewan in one day. I remember it being quite steep coming out of Portloe ?

No I’m not familiar with him. I’ll check him out. Thanks. I follow the itinerary in the Paddy Dillon guide. I do sometimes question this decision as some of the stages are quite a challenge.
