Ah yes I wouldn’t be without them. They make a huge difference to the exertion on my joints and provide a bit of extra stability on those descents.

Brilliant! And lovely to see this beautiful area where I walked in the very warm July. Makes me remember the walk better. I must say you walk really long stretches at the time!!! And I couldn't agree more about the part before Coverack. I seriously considered taking a taxi to Porthallow once we reached Coverack. St. Ives to Zennor is a walk in the park compared to this. But after a rest and a Coke at the Lifeboat House, we were fit for walking again 😄 Thank you 👍😊

I just follow the itinerary in the cicerone guide book which is quite tough some times. It’s amazing how restorative sitting down and having a drink can be.

@@pilgrimpaul7798 yes, a little rest can be amazing. We are really conservative ourselves about being true to the path and we follow it on the Komoot app where I have plotted it before we start. If in doubt we also check with the OS Map app and Google maps. This year we had to do a small diversion on Dennis Head (just north of Gillan creek) due to some cows and a bull obstructing the path. But no other shortcuts 😄😉

Cheers @@pilgrimpaul7798 - I've been watching more and am almost up to speed. I'd like to walk it myself one day but I feel like it'll be a 10 year project to tick all the miles off. And maybe one day when I have the time, I can smash it out in a month or two all in one go. Keep up the good work and sharing your journey

@@pilgrimpaul7798 hi mate no I have done Minehead to Combe Martin, Falmouth to Plymouth, Weymouth to Poole and a few day sections here and there. Trying to join them all up. I wimp out a bit and arrange air b&bs on route as close to the path as possible instead of carrying camping gear. Have you completed the whole path now ?

Thanks 🙏 If I ever do it again I think I may shorten the days slightly to give myself more time for exploring and swimming etc. I’m committed now though to following the itinerary in the Cicerone guide book. Spoiler alert - I went back to the path within about a fortnight, so the videos will continue for a bit longer.

Brilliant video Paul … I did this walk yesterday … I must admit I did rhe sculpture park section but got lost so didn’t find the sculpture park 🤣… then ended up rejoining the original section so do some of that and the bit I did do was awful ! Plus I missed the half way marker epic fail ! Falmouth to Portloe tomorrow …

I think lots of people do miss the marker. You’ll have to drive there one day to get a pic beside it. I found Falmouth to Portloe quite tough, especially the last couple miles.

Hi Stewart. Thank you 🙏 I can’t wait to get back out and continue my walk. I didn’t camp in Minehead so I wouldn’t know which ones are good. Looking at the map there is one called Minehead Camping and Caravanning Club Site. It looks to be one of the closest to the start of the coast path. Another option would be to spend the night before you start at the campsite in Porlock it’s called Sparkhayes. You could then catch the bus to Minehead in the morning to start your walk and leave your tent at the campsite all set up for you when you finish your 1st day. I hope you have a great time. Give me a shout if you have any other questions.
