Thank you so much amib. Another fascinating walk. I have always found Kent to be a county of especially fierce contrasts; from glorious downland/Wealden scenery to its overcrowded roads and new builds. Lovely churches. You have cheered me up no end on a very snowy night up here in the Pennines. Thank you as always

Good that it lifted your spirits Gillian; no snow down here yet, but very cold! Let's hope it doesn't get too bad🤞Might affect this week's walk🤔 Thanks for watching again😉👍

Love that part of the world. You're right about the water levels in Kent, even here in Chislehurst the pond water levels are very low at the moment. Good to see that most of the walk was accessible and not too muddy and the churches looked like they were well cared for. Thanks for taking us along on your trip

Small world! Nice area, you've made a good choice, methinks. Just put the walk title into a search engine and you'll find the walk details. Thanks for watching😉👍

Thanks for watching again Pam. No walks currently as my camera's in for attention; get it done before the warranty expires and whilst the days are shorter😉👍

Also love this part of the world and have the Stour Valley Walk on my list for next year. I would guess that the large churches, with the magnificent organs, in this area are related to the wool trade. Great video once again and I so enjoy a vicarious walk when I’m unable to get out in the winter months.

Most likely Liz, reflecting a different era. Shame I can't alway s find the light switches though😏 SVW will be good🤞 (There is a minor issue with my video recorder that I'm not currently happy about and need to raise with Panasonic; I'll await wetter days to minimise 'down-time'). Thanks for watching again😉👍

I like churches, and often go out to visit and photograph them. It's sad to see them closed.

Yes, amazing places, but modern life means some have to be locked up to prevent thefts😤Even ancient burial records aren't safe! The variety of architecture amazes me! I'd love to be buried in the grounds of one, but our local one is full!😒 Thanks for watching!😉👍

There used to be a station at Cranbrook, closed many years ago.

Thanks for that John. Always a shame to hear about our disused branch lines as their removal was too short-sighted by Beeching (the French kept the infrastructure after closures over there, just in case); how we could benefit from them today! And though I'm a walker, I'd rather a train on a disused line than pedestrians/cyclists! Thanks for watching😉👍

I am trying to guess what AMIB stands for? Adam Ibson? Perhaps you will tell me? Or will it be an enigma. I haven't been on a decent walk for more than a year, mainly due to injury. Used to do fifteen milers and lots of cycling, too.

I know how you feel regards the cycling and walking distance; I got knocked off mine 4 years back and haven't cycled since. I tend to keep my walks within a manageable distance these days as well thanks to that lay-off😤 If you know anything about The Stranglers, that will answer your query on amib😏 Thanks for watching😉👍

@amib I wanted to add that I was run down by a motorist on Plough Lane, Wimbledon, London in 2016! I actually leapt over my handle bars! And ended up with a graze on my right achilles. A motorist behind me got his registration, and I saw him in the magistrates court. And they only put three points on his licence! After a hit and run! There is no justice in this country.

I ended up with a broken ankle, but at least he stopped and admitted guilt. I used a no-win, no-fee solicitor to get me some recompense for my injuries, which could have been worse in 2020, at the height of Covid! Thank God I still live to tell the tale (as you do)🙏
