Thank you for the detailed review. That seems like an awesome pack. You mention that it holds a bear canister. It would be great to see how well that fits. Also, it would be nice to see how well the pack fits you and how much weight you expect to carry in it would be interesting too. Great info, thanks.

@@robd.9481 Great feedback. I plan to do a gear video showing how everything fits in the pack and will show how the canisters fit in as well as images of the pack on.👍

I have the Rugged Long Haul 50. I love it. SWD is great company and make a great product. You will love your pack. Great choice!

I use the SWD 50 L Long Haul and 70L Big Wild for most of my Backpacking trips and love them both. Would recommend them to anyone: Well worth the price and wait - they know what they are doing making the most robust, comfortable and modular UL backpacks out there IMO.

Glad to hear you've had great luck with SWD packs. I can't wait to get out on trail with my Long Haul!

The Cuban fiber bags they make to stack inside the backpacks are also amazing. Very convenient dry storage for your fall hikes.

Very informative, thank you! I’m 1 month into the 4 month wait for my Long Haul 40, and this video makes me even happier about my purchase decision.

Great job on this review! I’m so happy you’ve found a pack that works for you. Do you know the value of getting a pack that fits you right especially when you’re long distance Hiking. You also showed how difficult it can be sometimes with how many packs you’ve gone through to find one that works for you. Again great job I really enjoy this. I am excited for you to get back on trail the spring and hopefully I’ll see you out there somewhere. Cheers

@MarmaladeOutdoors Thank you Marmalade! 😁 The true test will be getting the pack on trail, but so far it seems like a great choice. Hopefully I've found that balance between weight and comfort. Can't wait to get back out there!

@ have you use your packed day hiking at all to see how it feels?
@TheHikingChick12 ай бұрын
@MarmaladeOutdoors Yes, I loaded it up and did a couple of training hikes after I got it at the end of last year. I had bought it for 2024 season before my health setback. I'll be getting it out on more training hikes when I'm strong enough. Still working my way back. 💪

Hi I was wondering why I had not seen any videos from section b. I made it to I 10 (209 miles )this year. I got a new pack too. 30 l fastpack, running vest.

@lisasdayoff503 Wow! Congrats. Way to go on Section B. I was so disappointed to not get back out there this year. My dream is still alive.😁

Looks like a great pack. What’s your opinion about this style vs. trampoline style packs?
@TheHikingChick12 ай бұрын
@chili1593 My Osprey Aura is trampoline style, part of why it's so comfortable as well as less back sweat. The Long Haul style carries closer to the back, which I feel is a bit better for posture. Trampoline style sits away from the back, causing a slight forward lean to compensate (and tight hip flexors). I won't know how I really feel about it until I get the Long Haul on trail more, but on my initial training hikes with it, I like the weight hugged to my back better. I hope that helps.😁
@chili15932 ай бұрын
@ very helpful thanks. I have both styles and understand your point. Will be interested to see how your experience is on trail. Did you check out any of the Durston packs? I love my Wapta and other than the warm back I forget I’m carrying it. I’m going to take a look at your pack though it looks awesome. Thanks again and happy hiking.
@TheHikingChick12 ай бұрын
@chili1593 Never tried the Durston packs. The Long Haul has a better max carry (40lbs) than most packs in the 2lb range.
@chili15932 ай бұрын
@ I know from experience fit is very individual. I use the Wapta as a day pack as I fish. I also have a couple of others for day hiking both larger and smaller heavier and lighter depending on the weather and what I’m carrying for contingencies rods etc. The 55L Kakwa is stated as being able to carry 45 lb max which is far more than I would want to burden myself for with as a weekend warrior for overnights and not a thru hiker so I was curious. I go where bear cans are required so I need the space. Keep us posted and again happy hiking!
