LYRICS: I was working in the studio and the bass player, he got the call, y'know come down and do your bass part. So he goes down, he's back up in about four minutes We said, well that was quick, y'know, must've got it in one take he said they only wanted one note, donk and then they put it in the computer (...) It's a tune looking for words I'm a clip reconstituter takin' old video back to the future At what I do, there's nobody astuter one note, donk, put it in the computer I'm getting very into this techno stuff with all the machines and computers n' stuff I'm gonna make up a song off the cuff you don't like it, fair enough The drums, I can play 'em rhymes, I can say 'em Swedemason, that's my name I'm ahead of the game Elaborate production, looking back it was all still done on that little four track now it's one note, donk, have a plonk on that get a bass line sicker than a heart-attack Just one recurring tune, gets stuck in your head like a harpoon Here's your big chance, go on have a plonk he said they only wanted one note, donk The structure of the songs and some of the tricks, technical EQs and all the gimmicks synthesisers and dodgy lyrics People have come up to me and said there is some rumour: I'm dead. I had a sampler by the bed and I just woke up with this tune in my head It was seriously urban, like urban as a fucking turban "I'll be changing that", I said, "wait a minute you won't you know, that's the best line in it" drums and bass, man. What I'm gonna do now is make sure I'm in tune with me little glass near enough Sometimes the drums sounds, they sound a bit poop, poop I-I'll do that again (...) To make things even worse they come in, boof, with another verse I'll halftime the drum machine tell you all about how I've been down the McCartney rabbit hole took samples people'll say I stole but I'm not stealing anything, man I was just doing what the computer can and this allows me to do what I do and if you still don't like it screw you Producers today have so much choice but they're too respectful of my voice You can speed it up, use an effect Swede's got a healthy lack of respect He's a naughty boy, what can I say He's gonna do it anyway He's been studying all those years to go, donk So I got mashed and wrote this song Goes... plonk But what does that mean? It doesn't really mean anything I know what it means... "I wanna sue this guy."
