Hi Nice shooting Guys. My guess is most poeple would struggle to hit a 22" gong at 100m with open sights let alone at 600m, I have had an AG42 as part of my colletcion for over 30 years now and just love it, the accuracy of this rifle is so good, watching Eric closing the bolt does make me cringe a bit as with this rifle when the bolt holds open on last shot you should put to safe, put hand on the twin "hand holds" push forward to retreave the bolt then pull back which will make the stripper clip charging eazyer then flip safety backover and pull backon the hand holds and the bolt will go forward. Keep up the good shooting and reviews

Leo Steens no lol I would say there would be at least some hold over you aim right at your target at (600m ) you won't hit nothing but dirt all day.
@leosteens8835

the AG has a very good adjustable rear sight, my one is spot on at 600m just turn the dial to your range and it's good +/- elevation, acutaly it's good throught the full range (but using match ammo though)

Sorry for my bad English. In my experience the PPU ammo sucks in comparison with m41 ammo. Norma jaktmatch are probably the most common ammo in 6.5x55 in Sweden.
@kathryntruscott6351
@kathryntruscott6351 6 жыл бұрын
Blade type open sights have a built-in error of about 2MoA in perfect comditions. at 600 yards that's a foot either way in aim error alone. Then there's ammo variation..... It would be interesting to see what this very fine rifle would do with a good optical sight, and some high grade ammo. The 6.5 Swede is a great calibre...used for deer hunter here (NZ) quite a bit.

M1 Garand would be a crap shoot hitting the target at 600yd. They're 5moa rifles, not great for long distance shooting.
@brandonsimons543
@brandonsimons543 6 жыл бұрын
Kenneth Anderson lmao they most definitely are not 5 moa rifles they are very accurate unless you have a shot out barrel. There is a reason they are the most popular milsurps in competitions
@DigitalRX2r
@DigitalRX2r 6 жыл бұрын
Uhh... factory standards were a minimum of a 6" 8 shot group @100yd brand new for acceptance per Army guidelines. Most were on the far end between 3.5-5moa. They were never intended to be long distance rifles, fire superiority was more important than outright accuracy. They're popular in milsurp competitions because they're a dime a dozen and collectors here in the states have a hard on for them. Even Gun Jesus himself has explained the accuracy standards on the M1. Anything 2moa and under for a Garand is exceptional, they're few and far between.

The safety does not have to be engaged when reloading the Ljungman. Engaging the safety actually doesn't do anything when the bolt is locked back after firing the last round as there is a detent pushed up by the magazine that is holding it back.

America has always had a love for .30 cal rifles. Every gun store in america has 308 or 30-06 and nearly every rifle company makes a rifle in those calibers. 6.5mm is making a run for the top though in the 6.5 creedmoor cartridge.

My AG42 shoots tight groups for a while then the groups start to open up a little vertically. I'm guessing it's wood to metal fit issue and thermal expansion of the wood in the barrel channel is responsible. This is while running it at a relatively slow rate of fire.

Hey IV8888 you have done some cool (5 gun videos.....) I was wondering could you do another one on the topic of speed what are the fastest shootable firearms out there? I know one variable has to do with the shooter him or herself, but what guns have you shot over the years that seem to just take off from maybe even a quick bolt action, shotgun, revolver, semi-auto handguns and rifles.

I realize you guys don’t want to destroy cameras but you need to set your camera 100 yards back behind your target so you’re pretty sure it won’t get hit but keep it straight on, or keep it as close as you are now and put an AR500 plate behind the camera so if it gets hit, won’t matter...It really throws me off every video and I think it would help these videos out tremendously!!!

This gives a better balance in this old semi auto guns..please make a test of this..(",) All the best from Denmark

Joseph Stalin I spent 4 hours making a photo collage to prove a point. A No.4 is not an smle! It was never named that, nor did they share parts interchangeability. The stock is different, the barrel is different, the action is different, the magazine is different, the sights are different, the only thing that shard commonality was the buttstock AND THAT'S IT. So for the love of God which people stop calling the no.4 a smle.

Yes they should do that. Also should make it clear that most of those shots that missed their gong would have hit a torso or deer vitals sized target. They are getting the equivalent of head sized target hits more often than not when the sights are hiding the target with an old milsurp rifle and mediocre ammo.
