I used to work in a music shop and one of the guys in Dismember used to get his guitars setup and fixed by me before/after tours. One time he came in with a HHM-2 that had a busted pot. (For like the fifth time since they didn't use gates back then, just stomping it on and off between breaks) Anyways... Since i knew what the settings was i asked him if it wasn't simpler to just remove all of the pots and solder "straight through" "Shure why not.. I'm not turning those suckers anyways" We ended up with a HM-2 with no knobs what so ever... and since all the nobs "steal" a little even att full throttle that one ended up being the "Turbo-HM-2" Later he told me he used it on "Where Iron Crosses Grow" since it had a little more of everything.

Someone stole my HM-2 more than 20 years ago. Never was able to replace it. Kinda blows, as I actually did like that pedal.
@VortechBand6 жыл бұрын
You can easily grab a couple from Ebay or such for 40 - 50 USD. It's not really a rare pedal :) Boss made a ton of them in the 80s and it was very popular then in hair metal(!).

5.40 in video, Ola playing raw chugging thrash riffs with the Boss HM-2, pure GOLD, this is exactly the type of riffing I like playing best with this cult pedal, as well as many other old school metal guitarists in the 80's when this pedal existed for some years before the Swedish death metal scene 🤘

His reaction at 7:25 on the "hiss" tone kills me. "Yes!!" Lmao...

The greatest Swedish guitar sound is on Opeth-Still Life (not lead, but riffs, also clean parts maybe in top 10 in the world)

I got one of these from my neighbor. He bought a old Squire strat thatcane with the pedal or $20. Love this pedal it sounds killer through a cheap practice amp.

I have to say this is one of my favourite metal guitar tones ever! Would have been great if you had used an old Peavey Bandit combo.

I paused this video, went to educate myself on entombed, now 1 hour later, I'm back as an entombed fan. They're really unique, each song has something a little quirky about it aether it be a load of reverb on the vocals or an unusual drum beat etc. Very nice!

Next time I test out a pedal I will start saying "Now we're snacking!", I love that line. Also that mug is the best thing I've ever seen

Wool-verene.. no "v"sound.. thats a Swedish thing, Great tone on that pedal. I use it myself. Also have the ever present, Boss MT-2. people either love 'em, or hate 'em.. Not my best choice for metal paedals, but they do have their place. My fav for metal tones is the Diezel VH4....Great vid my friend!!!
