Roy Lupton is one of the best shots with a rifle on driven big game that red dot sight manufacturer Aimpoint has come across. Now we have the proof. He has a stonking day on wild boar and deer, including medal fallow. It’s a driven hunt on a private estate in Sweden, sponsored by Aimpoint and riflemaker Tikka.

Why shoot wild boar?
Most of continental Europe has a wild boar problem. There are millions of animals causing possibly billions of euros of damage to farmland. Happily, there is a control system, based on sport hunting. In some countries, where sport hunters do not manage numbers effectively, they have to pay reparations to farmers.
Wild boar are omnivorous and approximately 400 species of plants and animals have been reported to be part of their diet. Their habit of rooting through the floor of woodland and pasture leaves a clear indicator of their presence. They take both eggs and nestlings of ground-nesting birds. Damage to agriculture can also be extensive and concerns have been raised regarding collisions with traffic. Boar have no natural predators apart from small populations of wolves, meaning culls are necessary to control population growth.
Wild boar are susceptible to the same diseases as domestic pigs and therefore have the potential to spread infectious disease such as swine fever, foot & mouth and Aujesky’s disease.
We’re proud to promote enjoyment of fieldsports and the countryside. There are three guiding principles to everything we do on Fieldsports Channel:
▶ Shoot responsibly
▶ Respect the quarry
▶ Ensure a humane, clean and quick kill

In Sweden we have well managed populations of red deer, fallow deer, roe deer , moose and wild boar. A good income for landowners like ordinary farmers. Now our politicians let the wolves explode in numbers. Everything we worked for is falling apart.

Take a look at Germany where we have significantly larger amount of wolves in a much smaller country. There are no regulations plans at all. At least you keep them down to 300 indiviuals.

@@MrPiuPui nej vi har mycket mycket större stam av varg. Våra myndigheter säger 460st men i värkligheten har vi runt 700st. Dom har tappat kontrollen totalt tyvärr.

20.000€ for shooting Roe deer? But still talking about benefits for forestry? This is so odd!

If you need Trico even for spruce not to be eaten up, you are lost. There can be no deciduous trees without fencing. Fencing then kills Wildlife too. just shoot some more deer, especially roe deer.

With these ridiculous fines it seems that in Sweden hunting is a sport for the Elite's. One thing I like about North America hunting seems not to be very class based

remember that this is an estate. most hunters in Scandinavia are normal people

Thats not at all how it is here. Hunting is the common man's trade. The fines are just there to make sure that no one shoots an animal that the estate wants to keep. It's common practice to keep around good quality animals on the grounds so that they can multiply and spread their genetics. Hunting in Sweden has pretty much always been a way for the common man to keep meat on the table for his family. I mean to me hunting in America looks to be a bunch of hillbillys running around shooting, stabbing wild boar and deer to death. I know that's not the case but seeing how some southern hunters go about hunting just makes me sick.

Where is the problem? If you cant identify what you are shooting at, you dont shot. Simple as it is. Then you dont need to pay any fine. If you shoot like a cowbow on every animal you see, you should pay even more + never invited again in my opinion.

From most of the European videos it’s seems that the entire hunting events are very controlled. Some countries have testing of shooters like moving animal targets? And gun ownership is highly restricted like having to keep weapons in some business that store them. It seems to be overly choreographed sometimes with special events at the hunt site before and after the hunt. Just too much put into it like it’s something revered and unique. Here in Texas especially it’s just simply find or own a place and just go hunt whatever whenever it’s legal. At your schedule,not someone else scheduled event. I’m guessing there’s not much state owned or public land either? Just seems to be highly structured and controlled there. Glad I live in Texas

Damn you americans are so ignorant... other countries have far more freedoms. Maybe looking things up instead of watching sponsored hunting videos might expand your views

Most in Europe there's nearly no state/public land for hunting. Hunting rights are bought with the land, so all hunting areas is privately own. There is companys that are state driven, that have daily hunting tickets for small game. But big game for us, Deer, Red deer, Elk and wild boar there is nothing like what you describing, atleast in Sweden. The hunting rights can in second hand be leased to a person or a group of persons. For the right price of course.
@nathanielwowchuk6880
@nathanielwowchuk6880 Жыл бұрын
@Tompii that's pretty much exactly how North America is. You can't hunt private land unless you have permission. Some make you pay for it. There's just wayyyy more space here, but if the politicians bought by big oil and mining companies get their say. There won't be any left eventually.

@@nathanielwowchuk6880 In Europe is a ton of traditions in hunting, diffrent for each country. Seeing that it went from the Kings property where noble and dignified members of the society was exclusivly able hunt big game. Until 1789 in Sweden for instance, King Gustav III gave farmers the right to hunt big game on their property. Year 1830 Swedish hunting society was formed to save the wild life and continue allowing commoners to hunt, we accidently irradicated beaver and wild boar.. So it's very imbedded in our culture and most European countries listens to the hunters for wildlife preservation and sustainability co-existing with modern society. SO hopefully no big corp gonna win over the hunters here.

I kind of don't understand why British hunters use what they use. When American hunters, news for the most part. Cheaper guns often with storied and old designs. For instance, if I was on a hunt like this... I'll probably be using a Winchester model 1895 chambered and 30-06 with Iron sites. Frankly, this doesn't really seem like really good shooting. Like not at all. Also why God's name are you taking so much? Just take what you need. I don't understand you British hunters at all

@@nathanielwowchuk6880 common European ridiculousness... You don't have to explain modern wildlife culling, we invented it... Really... We did. Numbers still don't make any sense. Being Sweden does make any difference. The hunters are brits. The guns they use, the shooting technique, so on. This isn't culling, it's sport killing.
