Just because they eat nectar and honey, doesn't mean they should be fed candy. It's even bad for our kids.

Another name for a Kinkajous is "Honey Bear". They eat honey and nectar in the wild. Their bodies process sugar at a high level, whereas humans can not. Alex would not feed anything to the bears that was not healthy. Check out the dinner bowls in other videos. All fruit, veggies, and protein. Gummies, etc, are afternoon treats. 😀

These animal receive a regular diet. The "fish" are treats. I have experience with kinkajous and they can process sugar. The difference between the kinkajous in the sanctuary and a wildlife park/zoo, is that the sanctuary animals sometimes receive off-diet foods as a stress-reliever, training incentive, and treat for older or special needs animals. Every situation I'd different. The rehabilitation specialist in this video knows what foods to offer and the quantities.

I know they eat nectar, fruits and sometimes proteins from insects but giving them straight up high fructose corn syrup junk will definitely lead to health issues like diabetes, obesity and dental problems. This is messed up to think it's cute.
