They are not controlled by the government and only look at your request to protest in a safety aspect. They maybe move your protest or change the time to make it safer. If some right wing that's against LGBTQ want to protest at the same time LGBTQ community want then they couod move it for the security. Then when you start protesting the police could record it to have evidence if you break the law's when protesting, they did investigated some of the Quran burning as hate crime. And the police also protect your protest because its your right to be able to protest.

Freedom of speech is NOT to be able to speak without being questioned, criticised or protested against. Freedom of speech goes both ways. Take it from a Swede that actually knows his countries constitution. If you are a Swede yourself you should be ashamed of yourself. It is mandatory to study our constitution in school. Either you dropped out or wasted Swedish tax money not listening during class. This is addressed in the Swedish Regeringsformen which declares all the basic democratic freedoms, rights and obligations. The polices' job is to make sure both parties are able to exercise their rights without getting attacked or hindered in any way. This is his way of protesting against what he see as an oppressive culture that stems from the Quran. It’s his protest and he has the right. I personally don’t agree with burning books that are holy to people, I would not throw a bible in the trash for example. You can’t come to a country and create chaos, that’s unacceptable. Sweden and Germany have changed their refugee policies and a lot of other European countries. Plus also their asylum seeking laws and status. They're no longer welcomed with open arms and unwary as they've had a massive spike in violence and SA over the past few years before C19. The locals are being intimidated by gangs and woman definitely wont walk alone anywhere. They see woman dressing up to go out and some can't contain themselves while others don't give a crap and go for her! The Scandinavian prisons are holiday homes. The refugees think it's soft as heck which it is, plus they don't act these ways in their country of origin because some of the crimes could have them castrated, maimed or and executed back home and too well they know it. Locals are sick of it and pushed for reform which they're working on.

This is not silencing. This is deescalating. He is comforting the man who is clearly very upset and hurt. The policeman is basically just trying to help the man so that he doesn’t unintentionally do anything that is illegal. Maybe the man has a wife and children, a family he needs to feed. If he does anything illegal (like trying to attack the Iraqi Quran-burner), then he will be committing something illegal and it maybe will be costly for him and his family. The policeman was very respectful.
