This little Swedish Street BEAST is PACKED with power - 540ci and THREE kits of nitrous! The six time Stockholm Open winner - Norrlands Asconan made it to the states to race at Hot Rod Drag Week 2016 all the way from Sweden. Entering the unlimited class the driver Magnus and co-driver Dennis is on a hunt for a 7-second pass as they try to survive the long drives between tracks! With the only goal of getting through the week and make a pass on Friday the guys made a successful adventure pushing the car harder than ever during it’s first time on American roads! Fighting issues from fires, to fatigue, and everything in between they managed to have a blast, but now the question is what else do they plan to do with the car while they have it here...

props to these Swedes... not only the engineering behind their ascona but also their driving skills. this opel was piloted by 2 different drivers and CONSISTENTLY hit low 8's. awesome vid... i prefer driving at the track but when a spectator i prefer street races. this video is an exception.

I am 99% sure I saw this car at Orlando Speed World on 9-16-18. I am not sure how dude missed the wall 3 times and still ran a 7 second pass. I was sitting in the water box with my car and had to slap myself to get started with my burnout. What a car/team/driver!

Nope :( they tried some drag radials at Orlando Speed Dragway just for fun, They managed to get the cars Visa extended so the car will stay in Usa until next summer :)

QsEExTr3me I would guess that with it being pump gas friendly (at least with the timing retarded and low rpm street driving)and at 540ci it should be around 800 on the motor and 1200 on the bottle with the 400 shot.

Winner of this years Stockholm Open was a 3500hp pro mod, so the tube chassis are soon going to take over here as well... Still, most of the OKC would have a really hard time on cold, unprepped blacktop asphalt. There are no set spots here, you run it where its possible. So the 4000hp 6 second turbo cars from Street outlaws etc would have to run very de-tuned. They would do good, but would need quite a bit of time to learn the surface

It is, GM owned both Opel and Holden so the Torana and the Ascona a was pretty much the same, look at the VK Commodore compared to Rekord E2 which also are the same.

Nah, it's an Opel Ascona, from the german manufacturer. However, the design was basically made by GM and as such they also shared it with Holden. That's why it looks so similar.
