Looks like there had been a "take one" for when the Consul rolls as it was already some damage when this one happened. Obviously the first take it landed & settled on it's roof when they wanted it upright, so the scene was clearly done again.

Those grannies really did handle well. The jag was an overweight sitting room struggling to perform. I owned both at the time, new. BMW had the edge then.

@@russelljameson9118on larger cars like these probably , but cross-plys were still offered on the base 2 litre & 2.5 Consul as late as 1975 ,so when this was filmed late 77/78 then yes it may well have had Firestone or Dunlop cross-plys fitted . Especially as the squeal going round bends.

He was in the scene walking up to the Triumph through the window and at the end in the pub , he had done many parts in film & TV in Southern Ireland. He did mix with some TV celebs in the 60s& 70s.

It was a brilliant series, and the films (of which this is one) were pretty decent. “Get your trousers on, you’re nicked!” is all I can say.
