Hey Mike!! In 1995 when I was 18 I saw an ad in a guitar magazine for your Speed Kills on VHS. I then stole my dad’s credit card and ordered it from the magazine and also ordered your No Boundaries, Planet Gemini, Nitro OFR and HWDWS, on CD! I basically was waiting for that day when my dad would confront me about the incident but I guess he never noticed it! Poor old man, that’s what he gets for getting his son hooked on rock n roll! Been obsessed with your playing ever since. God bless! The old man is still around and doing well!

And yes, finally a sweep picking lesson I truly understand. I've watched others but they seem to want to give you a little information but demonstrate so as just to keep it out of reach. I'm not a pro, I'm someone who just enjoys learning and playing guitar and lessons that still have me searching in the end really aren't lessons. Thank you for having it all there to learn from.

Mr. Batio ! I thank you for the lessons . You truly are the man. My uncle was wright. He said lesson to nitro the band. Michael Angelo plays in it . I'm glad I did since 1986. I had my first lesson from Terry Peterson at guitar center in Kenosha wi. In 1987 . The rest of the story is all you. Thank you. Got to get that Saw tooth!

I must say this musician is amazing! I have been playing guitar for 41 years and I am no slouch. I am usually not attracted by super-fast guitar (exception made for the pioneers like Alvin Lee, Eddie Van Halen, Allan Holdsworth,, Malmsteen, etc.). But Mr. Batio has a musicianship that is difficult to ignore. And he is such an amazing teacher as well. Musicians are really sensitive to the tone of voice. I claim that one can learn what kind of person one is just by hearing the tone of voice. And Michael Angelo‘s tone tells me he is e generous, humble, intelligent and giving man, almost to a fault. A great musician and a great person all around! I have just a silly question: is he wearing a wig or is this his real hair? Nothing wrong with wigs, you understand. Good enough for Phil Spector, good enough for anyone! His hair look just too thick and shiny for a 60-year-old, that is all....even if he was not predisposed genetically to baldness...

Regarding the string dampener, I ordered two when GoDPS would still ship abroad (not to blame them. Shipping abroad can be a pain sometimes). Love them! Especially when playing live. No matter how clean and slow I practice arps, I noticed that I could still hear natural harmonics ring out whenever I lift my fingers off the 12th fret. This tends to happen with AP too. I think this is just what you get and have to get over when playing guitar with a decent amount of gain. I'm currently working muting a bit more with my fingertips whenever I play the string above, but I still get natural harmonics when I play string skipping licks that have notes on the 12th fret as my picking hand basically floats over my back pickup--kinda like sarod style--when I alternate pick, pretty much like yours. What amazed me is that I couldn't hear any natural harmonics ring out in your No Boundaries playthrough yesterday, and you didn't even have a string dampener on! Hopefully I'll get there someday too! Thanks again!

Dear Michael, thank you very much. I appreciate it. That was very useful and enjoyable at the same time. I am looking forward for the upcoming lessons... The guitar you used for the video, is that the "classic alder body ES 60 series" or the basic "ES series"? I would like to know if the guitar is just straight out of the box or some extra work is done on the guitar like fret leveling, crowning and so on?

Good morning, ran across some of your videos coupla weeks ago on KZbin, & have gotten hooked. I want to thank you for reviving my interest & 'fire'for playing. A question-:- do you, or have you ever played slide? Either straight or open tuning. If so, it would be extremely fascinating to see/ hear the mixture of your techniques combined w slide. Thank you again for the continued inspiration.

Hi Michael. I attended your clinic in Birmingham at the nick this year. I have a question: I remember you talking about picking hard but do you let the your fingers loosen a little when sweep picking so that the pick slides across or is it a really firm grip? I tend to hold my pick really hard most of the time but it seems like a little play works better when I practice sweeps. Or is that entirely controlled by your hand angle. I'm not per se moving my fingers just loosening grip a little. I'm still working on my thousand repetitions of the a minor arpeggios, but I have trouble cleaning up the descending portion of the lick.
