I once saw him at a live concert on TV. Half of the audience was in tears....... the men too. All of his songs have such deep feeling and memories attached to them for everyone who has been a long term fan; some good; some bad, but he is a legend whos voice seems to be as good now as it has always been. Fantastic.

I had the opportunity to meet James a few years ago. He was performing for the 4th of July special in NY playing "On The 4th of July". Afterward, he played Sweet Baby James at the request of the crowd. The night was perfect and the song still sticks in my mind. It was amazing to meet him and sit about 3 feet away as he performed it.

James Taylor has, by his honesty about His addiction and his psychiatric hospitalization for depression and anxiety, JT has helped ease the stigma of mental illness. With his notoriety, untold numbers of people have heard His life history . I for one have felt so Relieved about my struggles with depression, which caused hospitalization. I have been so humiliated about this disease of depression. However after hearing James's episodes, I feel just like a "Regular person " . Thank you very Much James Taylor. And your music and lyrics are beyond Compare. Such soothing music and Meaningful words. You are truly blessed with unique talent. I respect admire and thank you, from the bottom of my heart With gratitude, Leslie Bernstein

I saw him many years ago at the Nokia Theatre and was just amazed at how smooth his voice was even now. He came to this song and without any real fanfare began to play. I have to tell you that in that moment, as the words lifted over us I realized that after years as a kid growing up and listening to his music, and this one in particular I always considered his anthem, I was sitting only a few rows from him as he sang. It was difficult to contain the emotion that came over me. Amazing!

I attended Goddard College in Plainfield VT in 1980. One of the faculty was friends with James, who stopped by for a visit on a beautiful Spring afternoon. He was driving and old car, dressed like a hippie in ripped jeans and a tie-dye shirt with sandals on his feet. James regaled all with an hour or so of the finest acoustic guitar and vocal show I had ever heard. Afterward, he had dinner with us and we even partied a while before JT said goodnight.... I was honored and impressed most by how humble and genuine James was. A really truly NICE man.
