I really like how the story has a continuous flow. Thank you to the writer for not leaving any holes in the story. Things seem realistic but still magical and I love the animals 😂. I read various types of romance and this is comfy, adorable and the buildup to the romantic scenes between the characters is 🔥🔥. Don’t let the mild 🌶️🌶️ fool you, the author knows what she is doing. I appreciate that bc sometimes I just want a story with spark and the extra spiciness is not necessary to make it a good story. This is great and I will continue to read/listen Camilla’s books! 🩵

I like the book but hate this narrator. It was already established that Christian Slade had a slight British accent but this narrator completely made him sound like he was from the midwest with no trace of a British anything. Also this narrator's enunciation of some of the words with T'sin the middle of the word was completely gone.

Oh, I entirely skipped over Christian Slade's nationality I suppose. Now I see how it could be bothersome for you since you felt cheated off an accent. For me, her pronunciation of contracted words was most odd. Didn't became din-nit. Couldn't became cou-nit. The ending -int sound simply became "innit" somehow; which can snap one right out of the story when you think she's saying "innit" the British elision for "isn't it". Maybe some regional US dialect I've never come across before. Aside from that making her sound infantile, I guess I can't complain. She did keep me engrossed. At least better than other monotone narrators I've listened to, who read with the comprehension of 10-year-olds. I know one could argue that's owing to Camilla Isley's writing, but a bad narrator can make a good story insufferable and I owe it to her to have kept me glued.

A lot of plot, not enough details at the spicy moment. Took 3 hours get to anything hot...and it was lukewarm at best.
