I am horrible with volumes. I assume her link to the soap containers is the size she uses? ie; 6qt. Not sure which size she used for her colorant mixing. Maybe a 4 cup measuring cup? Does any one have the answer. BTW. Love your vids. your soaps are so beautiful.
@OpheliasSoapery5 жыл бұрын
For this size soap I use the 12qt. Holds up to about 380 total Soap ounces (oil’s, water, lye and fragrance) But I also have a 6qt container. That will hold around 166 total soap ounces. And with the smaller pitcher style cups I have 500ml, 1000ml and 3000ml The smaller ones are perfect for mixing colors. But it all depends on your soap batch sizes. These sizes work best for me :)

Hi Shelly! If you’re starting out I would definitely just start small. Start with just a 2lb mold. I see that you strain your lye. I’m confused by that considering from what I’ve read is that you need a certain amount of lye to water. So how do your soap become soap if you’re straining some of the lye flakes out? I’m a beginner so I’m just curious.
@OpheliasSoapery5 жыл бұрын
Kay Cee I’m straining out the lye lint. All the lye is dissolved. Sometimes when I let it cool overnight a thin film forms on top. It will blend out with no problem. But I like to strain it.
