Probably because they do an excellent job at increasing awareness of the plight of donkeys worldwide, and what the sanctuary does to improve the lives of some of them. Don't be naive - to attract the best people you HAVE to pay them a worthwhile salary. How much work do you put in? apart from being an armchair critic?
