4:48 Because it is often not the case, I get so choked up every time I see a father handle these things in an adult fashion like this gentlemen here. Yes he is struggling with it, but he knows and freely talks about it. That makes him a good person who is doing his best. What makes him a great father and a good example for anyone is that he see's the truth of how strong his daughter is and if you look at him, you can clearly see she inherited so much of that strength from him. Her mom is obviously great in all of those ways too, but all too often it's the father who completely abandons their child over this. Parents like these make the world a happier place by setting a good example not only for those around them to handle things with grace, but especially for their children who have good reason to be proud their parents as well.

There's no point being envious, I was born in a place and a time when as I grew up it was made very clear to that I was a boy and had to accept it, so all I did I did in secret and mostly I still do. Life isn’t about thinking what you know is right and understanding it. It is about accepting and loving what you don’t understand and don’t know what is right. That is faith. Faith that your love and everyone’s love heals all and protects all. You don’t know what is right. All you know is love and peace. Spreading hate about things you don’t understand is ignorance. From Academic OneFile. DOI: dx.doi.org/10.1016/j.neuroimage.2009.03.048 Abstract: "Gender identity -- one's sense of being a man or a woman -- is a fundamental perception experienced by all individuals that extends beyond biological sex. Yet, what contributes to our sense of gender remains uncertain. Since individuals who identify as transsexual report strong feelings of being the opposite sex and a belief that their sexual characteristics do not reflect their true gender, they constitute an invaluable model to understand the biological underpinnings of gender identity. We analyzed MRI data of 24 male-to-female (MTF) transsexuals not yet treated with cross-sex hormones in order to determine whether gray matter volumes in MTF transsexuals more closely resemble people who share their biological sex (30 control men), or people who share their gender identity (30 control women). Results revealed that regional gray matter variation in MTF transsexuals is more similar to the pattern found in men than in women. However, MTF transsexuals show a significantly larger volume of regional gray matter in the right putamen compared to men. These findings provide new evidence that transsexualism is associated with distinct cerebral pattern, which supports the assumption that brain anatomy plays a role in gender identity." M. Kruijver, Jiang-Ning Zhou, Chris W. Pool, Michel A. Hofman, Louis J. G. Gooren, and Dick F. Swaab Abstract "Transsexuals experience themselves as being of the opposite sex, despite having the biological characteristics of one sex. A crucial question resulting from a previous brain study in male-to-female transsexuals was whether the reported difference according to gender identity in the central part of the bed nucleus of the stria terminalis (BSTc) was based on a neuronal difference in the BSTc itself or just a reflection of a difference in vasoactive intestinal polypeptide innervation from the amygdala, which was used as a marker. Therefore, we determined in 42 subjects the number of somatostatin-expressing neurons in the BSTc in relation to sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, and past or present hormonal status. Regardless of sexual orientation, men had almost twice as many somatostatin neurons as women (P < 0.006). The number of neurons in the BSTc of male-to-female transsexuals was similar to that of the females (P = 0.83). In contrast, the neuron number of a female-to-male transsexual was found to be in the male range. Hormone treatment or sex hormone level variations in adulthood did not seem to have influenced BSTc neuron numbers. The present findings of somatostatin neuronal sex differences in the BSTc and its sex reversal in the transsexual brain clearly support the paradigm that in transsexuals sexual differentiation of the brain and genitals may go into opposite directions and point to a neurobiological basis of gender identity disorder." press.endocrine.org/doi/abs/10.1210/jcem.85.5.6564 press.endocrine.org/doi/abs/10.1210/jcem.85.5.6564#sthash.smcscFzM.dpuf Full text:

I am a mtf transgender and started my transition 5 years ago now and all I can say is it is difficult and you will lose family but that the family do support and accept are the one who care about you and not how it would look on then having a transgender in the family
@elliemay17485 жыл бұрын
People need to understand that it’s much more difficult for the person transitioning, and if the family wasn’t transphobic it wouldn’t be so difficult for them.

Great video! She's lucky to be living in this day and age and to have all the support from her family and friends. As a trans female myself born in the 70s and growing up in Africa, I had no such luxury. I didn't understand why I felt different. I didn't know what transgender meant. I just always knew I was a girl but why have I got a boys body? I couldn't even tell anyone. But now in my 40s I'm finally beginning to live my authentic self. She's truly lucky and beautiful! And the way she pushed the hand out of her face during the group photo session just cracked me up. Such sass! 😁

Forget your scientific studies, Bonidee Lee. You can go into all the scientific data and analysis you want, but if this person really feels they are the opposite sex from the physical body they were born in, then they are the opposite sex. The person in the above story is a woman regardless of what you might think. I have friends who are transsexual, and they know who they are. They knew from early in their lives that they were meant to be the opposite gender from the physical body they were born in. They went through years of transitioning, finally getting surgery to change their genitalia to the gender they felt they wanted. The result? Happiness and contentment. They realized they made the right decision. Also I take issue with your comment that a transgender desires to be the opposite sex "to the best of their ability." This is something they cannot change. It is the way they feel inside emotionally. Some transgenders are crossdressers, that is, people who live as one gender and occasionally like to dress up in the clothes of the opposite gender, but DO NOT want to surgically change their bodies to physically match their occasional desires. Some are drag queens, that is, a homosexual person who likes to dress in the clothes of the opposite sex. And then there are the people that the above story is about, that is transsexuals, who are born in the body of one gender but have the overwhelming emotions of the opposite gender. I am one such person who occasionally crossdresses, but still enjoy being a male. It's obvious to me that you don't know a transsexual or you wouldn't make such remarks, hiding your intolerance behind a lot of scientific mumbo jumbo.
@thomasromano93216 жыл бұрын
You like using big words to hide your obvious intolerance don't you? As I explained to you before, and apparently you don't seem to understand, is that I am NOT a transsexual, but a crossdresser. And unlike what you say, being a crossdresser is NOT my religion. I belong to a Fellowship of warm, caring people, who respect and treat me as a good person. I don't know what you mean by "dysphoric young people growing up to be gay or lesbian." Some are gay or lesbian, but transsexualism is not homosexuality. But maybe I'm wasting my time with people like you, who insist on hiding behind your computer with your big words. It's obvious that you have never met a transsexual and simply do not understand.

the problem is is that sociaties are not educated about real spiritualities in that we are much more than our physical bodies. and that explains why people who have those experiences like the transgendered people do. each person knows how they alone feel like who they are spiritually.

Just for all the religious comments down here: ''There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.'' (Galatians 3:28) I am ftm transgender and I'm Christian. I am not a Christian because of my parents (they arent even religious) or people who told me that there is a god. I am a Christian because *I* believe. It's a medical thing, god makes no mistakes, and we are born the way we are, so god will accept us and our souls will be send to heaven in our afterlife. God bless y'all

Bless you ❤yes priorities, children are a gift, the only job as a parent is to teach them how to be a good considerate person to love and protect, prepare them the best we can for this world, love eventually wins over hate, it is sad to see so many parents and children are estranged over petty pride, ego and foolishness, fear of what other people might think of you, it takes strength to be honorable, humble and kind in a hard world full of willful ignorance, violence, sadness, anger, unkindness and judgement.
