These live performances at Musikladen really show how great of a drummer Mick is, very underrated for his advanced and unique skills. They were pioneers, looking through each year of their music it was always changing, going from pop to hard rock, and they kept the fun glam rock look throughout all of it too. RIP

The Sweet were musically so far ahead of their time.
@artysanmobile16 күн бұрын
@@pauleuro123 I don’t feel that was the case. Their music was very much of their time. What was special to me was the sophistication of their arrangements, in the context of the super slick pop world they inhabited for so long. I see their change to even more traditional, ultra simple rock as an escape from what was likely a contractual obligation and, ironically, I don’t think it worked. The poppy stuff was really special because of the sophistication they brought to it. If anyone can really be compared to them IN their time, it would be David Bowie or T. Rex, and those are high, high praise from me.

First time I have ever heard this song. Man, these boys could really rock it out! I am a new fan. Brian Connolly was just, I don't know how to put into words his greatness. Like all the good ones, just gone too soon. RIP Brian and Mick.

I can't understand why there are rap performers in the Rock and Roll hall of fame and not these guys. I read why the say some rap or hip hop performers in the hall but come on. They are in Rock hall but is Rock in rap hall of fame? hell no. They should be in.

I humbly prostrate myself to the raw power, musicianship and groundbreaking sound of The Sweet so perfectly on display here. Makes me sick that some still think of them as a band with some novelty hits in the 70's.
