LOL!! Brilliant comment. Not quite 70 yet, but well made point taken and thanks for the good laugh. The 70's were an amazing time to grow up. We were witness to the dramatic change in music, new bands were coming out of the woodwork, each with their own style and they were GREAT! Bands were allowed greater creativity because the record labels didn't quite have a firm grip on what a cash cow a hit single was yet. FM Radio and out of the heavens fell one of the greatest things to happen to audio......STEREO recordings/sound. We were now privy to that great sound on a permanent basis. Concert tickets were $5, weed was cheap and you were able to get high inside the concert venues. The best people/greatest friendships, and the list goes on. If you weren't having a great time during the 70's, you weren't doing something right. Yes my fellow Boomers, we couldn't have chosen a better time to be that young.

This version is from 1975, there's an earlier hard rock version copyrighted 1974 and released that year on the European version of Desolation Boulevard. Capitol Records in the states overhauled the LP and put this version on their version of Desolation Boulevard. Some territories that had Capitol got the American version. Both albums are radically different and I have both.

These guys were just the most fun and enjoyable band of the 1970's......Brian Connolly had the voice, the demeanor and the charisma that set them apart from all the other bands at the time.....I am glad that I was part of their music...."Fox on the Run" was one of the first 45's I ever purchased. They had the fun, rebel rock thing down...

@@tryithere Well, I wasn't necessarily excluding live recordings, but I guess if you restrict the artist to studio performances of original material it would indeed trim the list down to just a handful of folks... like, say, Frank Zappa/the Mothers, the Residents, the Ventures, James Brown, Paul McCartney/Wings/the Beatles, Brian Eno/Roxy Music, Acid Mothers Temple, Sun City Girls, the Fall, Alice Cooper/ACG, James Last, Jerry Lee Lewis, John Lee Hooker, Jandek, Robert Pollard/GBV, Nurse With Wound, Hawkwind, Rick Wakeman/Yes, R. Stevie Moore, the Melvins, Eugene Chadbourne/Shockabilly, Neil Young/Crazy Horse/Buffalo Springfield/CSNY, Willie Nelson, Bob Dylan/The Band, BB King, Cliff Richard, Thurston Moore/Sonic Youth, Tangerine Dream, Sparks, Buckethead (100+ albums in 3 years!) and those sorts of people...
