@@r.v.k.6932 I'm 57 now but about 30 years ago I did magic mushrooms. Liberty Caps are the type. We picked and dried loads of them. However, I wouldn't say that they're conducive to healing anxiety or anything else. Lol. My first trip was amazing. Made tea by boiling some in water. Drank it then we went out. It was night time. The lights, the refraction of light, the distortion, all of it was amazing. I kept saying things like, "Wow! Look at that!" as if what I was seeing could be seen by my brother. Lol. I remember being ravenously hungry when we got back and making myself a fried egg sandwich. My brother told me not to bother but I insisted! I bit in to the sandwich and immediately 'unbit' it. Lol! 😅 It was like biting into cardboard or plastic or something! Completely alien! It's impossible to eat whilst under the influence of those things. Lasted about 8 hours. I did not feel any spiritual closeness, awakening, or anything like that. Subsequent usage (you need to leave at least a day in between each dosage) resulted in exactly the same experience. It became a "here we go again" thing. I didn't bother anymore.

Brilliant idea about using the coffee grinder for the fine particles! You seem to use a lot of freezer space for your storage, so I thought I would share an idea that you might find helpful: The North American natives of the plains used meat powder like this (from bison) in a food called pemmican - which would store for years or decades without refrigeration. They would air dry it, and pound it to dust by hand (talk about work-intensive!). The meat powder would then be mixed with tallow, rendered from the animal's kidney fat - which would seal it and prevent air from getting in. Often, to increase the acid levels (and inhibit bacteria), they would also add an equal weight of dried and powdered berries (blueberries, cranberries and poke-berries being most common). As long as it stays dry, pemmican will keep more-or-less indefinitely. The old people used to seal it in leather bags for this purposes; modern folks tend to use Ziplocks. :) With the berries included, it provides almost everything the body needs to stay healthy. Bear in mind that the tallow does give it a heavy, fatty property. It was stored away as a famine food, so the fat was a bonus in those times. This means it's not suitable for lighter dishes - but it's wonderful in soups, gravies, sauces, and anywhere you'd like a lot of flavour. Anyway, thank you for sharing! @@lisahinton9682 IMPORTANT POINT (and thank you for reminding me!): to make pemmican, one must use tallow - i.e. kidney fat that has had the connective tissues removed and been rendered down. Tallow has very different characteristics than muscle fat. It hardens into a brick, with a feel similar to chilled lard or soap (indeed, many soaps are made from tallow). It is shelf-stable (no refrigeration needed), and keeps more-or-less indefinitely. If recreating this recipe, it's best to render one's own tallow for the process. Modern, store-bought tallow can contain additives that improve colour and other things, but is often intended for refrigerator-storage, and not meant to be kept on the shelf. There are some pure tallows out there (often from farmer's markets and the like), but it's hard to discern which is which. Thanks again for the reminder! It's an important point that I forgot to address.

@@lisahinton9682 Glad I could be of help! A block of pure tallow isn't too dissimilar in texture/hardness from tallow soap. I'm not sure exactly WHY it resists rancidity as it does - but I always assumed it's something to do with the wax-like solidity allowing less air to permeate than less dense muscle fat. Regarding its value: I must say that, in day-to-day use, I far prefer options like lard and shortening. Tallow is very... well, fatty. If you've ever had venison, and experienced the way the fat sticks to the roof of your mouth - tallow is similar. However, in a time without refrigeration, when the bison are elsewhere on their yearly circuit, I imagine those very fats would have been a comforting source of nutrition.

I'm def going to try this! The mushroom powder is going to taste amazing in gravys and sauces. The cooking liquid from the beef and chicken could probably be reduced and frozen in cube molds to make broth concentrate.

Great video. This is an awesome way to take advantage of store sales. Be it beef, chicken, seafoods or vegtables. Buy in bulk, divide it up to have part for meals and turn the excess into those luscious powders. I've made some vegetable powders in the past and they really add extra body to soups & stews. I love tomato powder in meatloaf.

Love your videos. Here's something I've done over the years since I live in hurricane land. When I dehydrate meat I take the juices and cook them down. Then I stick them in the fridge over night. Peal the fat off in the morning, render it and stick it in a jar. That leaves behind the best part one thing that usually gets tossed. The gel left over in the bottom is known as portable soup. You put that on a paper towel on a small plate and dry it in the fridge. It will take a while to dry out, but when it's done it keeps for a very very long time. I dehydrate cooked hamburger and pack it in it's own fat so air can't get to it. Since we all need a little fat in our diets anyway it balances out. I end up with the fat to pack it in and some soup base. I moved all of my videos to Rumble and don't have my video up for this yet because I'm re doing it. I wouldn't post the link here anyway. Tad rude. LOL

@@grlnexdoorable Maybe you should start a campaign against the people marketing lard that is kept in flexible plastic containers. Pemmican was a form of fat that was used as a binder for the meat and fruit in the block. It was never sealed at all. It sort of sat around.

Here's a TIP to getting more of your powders out of your blender containers: use washed clean and dried completely paint brushes, for example a fan paint brush. Use only new brushes and only for your food powders.

Thanks for reminding us about dehydrating all kinds of things and then also using the blender to make powders and seasonings! I used to buy breadcrumbs and there was a real shortage a few times in the store. I had an aha moment, found old bread (hot dog and hamburger buns, bread that was very dense/heavy stored in my freezer), cut into cubes and put on cookie trays in my convection oven, and then put 'croutons' into a food processor and made lots of breadcrumbs to store in my freezer. Always handy now and will not buy them again.

So naturally, w/o the silicate additives they use commercially & total control of the sodium content as well!?! Whaaaaat!! Meats have fat in them, and fats can go rancid quickly. Salt is a natural preservative and it dries things out. Thats why meat powders are often rather salty, the salt is keeping the powder dry which helps keep the fat spoiling and going rancid.

We had standard store bought bases, chicken, beef etc. This is a much better alternative. Those were loaded with fats and preservatives.
Mercy, ma oh how great thou are. This was so blessed. Im a plant base consumer and store seasons are so very exspensive. I love home made items its so much better. Im gonna be doing the different beans for flour.

First time watching a video of yours, and am already in love with your voice. ;-) Wonderful recipe too, i've never realized that these seasonings are exactly what I need to make instead of constantly buying small amounts of factory-made and getting hosed. @@marymillicentnjeru43 - It's really simple; boil up some chicken bones in salted water, maybe an hour, remove the bones when they look finished and render the broth down by 50%, cool, place in ice cube trays and freeze. Once frozen, put into a sealed container and back to the freezer! I hope this was helpful.

i wouldnt store these in pantry. they are dehydrated but there is still fat in them. it might be fine, but on the off chance something goes wrong it can easly put you in hospital.

@@xeros4000 if you add salt to it, vacuum seal it with a vacuum machine you can almost store it "forever". Only downside is that it will be salty, so maybe a year in a freezer vacuum sealed.

I never thought of making 'powders' like these! I am so excited to learn we can make our own! So much better then store bought bouillon cubes, that are jam packed full of salt, and who knows what else! I am also interested in the spice cubes you mentioned. Great idea, sweet lady! Like Jedediah, I was starving because of stomach problems and just found a2 Guernsey milk that works but it’s only available at one store and sometimes they run out.
