If you can find it, add a tablespoon of the adobo sauce from canned chilis in adobo to your chili. Its gives veggie chili a good umami flavor. I then freeze the rest of the sauce into tablespoon size portions for future prep. (If you use the actual chilis, they pack a punch. I recommend deseeding it if you have kids.)

I think the quality of the containers is good though so if you are looking for smaller containers for everyday use I think they'd be good.

I bought a few to test out, and LOVE them! They save the planet, and are a great portion size to take to work. I use them primarily for meals that are already cooked or need to be baked. Thy've been durable for me thus far and more affordable than the name brand. They also seal really well and don't spill, keeping food fresher longer :) Definitely worth the investment. I don't really get the point of "make ahead" and freezing when 75% of the ingredients are canned (like the chili)... just open the cans when you're actually making it.

let freedom ring I wonder if regulations are stricter in Canada because all the tofu at my grocery store is non-GMO!
@sharongolden77735 жыл бұрын
@@SweetPeasSaffron That's great, but not here in the US! When I became a vegetarian, I noticed I was very sensitive to soy products but fresh tofu that is organic and non GMO I can tolerate. Also now that I cook most of my meals from scratch and read all labels and avoid preservatives, GMO and buy organic as much as I can, I have no problems, so something about GMO non organic triggers my digestive system. My body is telling me to stay away from those things and once I realized that and shifted how and what I eat, I am so much better. I Love Canada and I do feel they have stronger regulations than the US.
