@@leeg7106 You can adjust the pitch bend settings for each patch, and if you have it set to match the pitch of the strings exactly, then yes - it will register your out-of-tune strings as pitch bends. However, this actual sounds great on a lot of synth sounds because it seems more natural, and you can have a patch without pitch bend for piano or organ sounds. I have this pickup as well as a Godin with a built-in TriplePlay pickup, and they both work great with my Waldorf Blofeld module and my Arturia Minibrute analog synths.

What if I want to control some of my Kontakt sample libraries (which are mostly orchestral)? To do fast note entry into my DAW, I play piano and use keyswitches on the keyboard to switch articulations and trigger CCs 1,2,3,7,11 with slider and buttons for CC assignment. I also use a breath controller for CC2. I would like to do the same with Kontakt Orchestral music (meaning cellos, oboes, horns, etc..) The Kontakt libs generally come with a lot of KS and CC abilities. If I had the Fishman system on my guitar what else would I need to be able to interact with my orchestral instruments? Unlike the keyboard I won't have any hands free. And I'm not interested in synthy pad sound, or acoustic guitar sounds. Purely orchestral VIs in Digital Performer and VEPro. Thanks.

Hi Jake Spector! TriplePlay can work as a plug-in in Digital Audio Workstation software (DAW) compatible with VST or AU format plug-ins. DAWs allow you to record your TriplePlay performances, sequence them for automatic VI and VGR changes in live settings, and much more.

Once you get this into your computer or tablet, how do you project that live on stage? Can you use a USB audio interface line out to a guitar amp or PA at the same time as the guitar MIDI/USB interface?

Hi, Glen! Yep, that is absolutely the idea. If you are generating your tones via software instruments, you would simply use an audio interface to get the audio out of your computer and into a mixer, PA system or an amp. Hey there, Buster. You should be able to run from Guitar Rig into the TriplePlay without any issues. All you’ll need is an audio interface to run an output from your computer into the TriplePlay controller. Then it will just be ¼” connections. Wont work with my Epi les paul. The bolt is too thick to mount the spacer to. I completely took apart my guitar and killed a set a strings. Now I have to restring and set up my guitar again and I'm left with an open box item that I can't return.

This is beautiful! I'm so close to getting a FTP (probably the Connect version which uses USB instead of WiFi), but I'm very curious: is FTP really more accurate than the Midi Guitar 2 app? A lot of people say that this app is nearly as accurate as the FTP, but I assume they only tried the app on an electric guitar, and that it wouldn't compare as well on an acoustic. Could you please give it a try and compare it? The app is free (in demo mode which would be enough to compare). Thank you.

Excellent demonstration but when for instance you play sax you are picking it like a guitar which doresn't sound natural for a saxophone. . I thought the whole point about these voices is that if its a wind instrument you IMAGINE you are blowing. Similarly with the piano which is essentially a hammering action. Apart from that your video certainly demonstrates rthe responsiveness of the tracking, a problem with other guitar synths.

Bilah M use your brain and you will understand why same large companies aka Yamaha, Korg, Oberheim, Roland wanted the Midi guitar out of the way and also Major guitar Companies also wanted the Midi guitar dead. The combination of the guitar and synth was the future and by now it would be super real time no latency. In fact by 2018 velocity sensors would already be part of a touch sensitive fret system. Too bad this technology meant that guitar companies and major synth companies would be out of business.

So, I have a UVI symphonic instrument that I bought 6 or 7 years ago, and now I can't even install it on my current computer...incompatible. All that money gone. So when I see this, I'm excited about the tracking, but I see a product that is rather pricey and that is dependent on a usb dongle and software. What happens in 7 years when the software won't install or usb goes the way of the floppy disk? If it were $200 I'd buy. But I can't stomach the possibility of $400 down the drain. If the device also had a port for a standard midi cable (i.e. I could still use it without the wireless and the software), I'd be more inclined to $400.

This company provides firmware upgrades for both the controller and the receiver. USB 3 is backwards compatible to the unit's USB 2 dongle, and USB C is backwards compatible to USB 2. If it went to thunderbolt, or some other specification, it would be a matter of buying an inexpensive adapter.

+alphasxsignal I know it's late, but just in case you were still curious: The Fishman Triple Play is simply a device that converts your guitar strings' audio to midi notes and transmits them wirelessly to your computer. You can then play any synthesizer or sampler software instrument in your computer. The TriplePlay does not process any of your guitar audio, as in modeling, like the VG-99 or GR-55 do. The Roland GK system is the only one that does that. The TriplePlay does not provide 13-pin output. This is an alternative to any GR-based guitar synth/midi products. It is basically a wireless version of similar technology to the Roland GK pickups, except the triple play only works with a computer and any virtual instruments that you have loaded. The advantage to the Triple Play is that it is wireless and many people only use soft synths these days. The advantage to the Roland GK compatible products is that in addition to guitar-to-midi conversion, you also get the COSM modeling processing when using a Roland processor such as a VG-99, GR-55, or VG-88. COSM modeling is NOT pitch-to-midi conversion, instead it is digital signal procession of the guitar strings audio signal (think of it as similar to the way a Line 6 Variax works).
