SwellTech SurfSkate: Guide to Ride- PUMPING

Bought some CX trucks and put on an old school deck I had laying around collecting dust. I watched all these complicated 20 minute instructional videos on how to pump on other channels, followed along and went nowhere, except where gravity took me. Watched this 90 second guide and am I am off and pumping straight away. KISS works every time. Thanks.

Michael Eubanks its pretty hard to get the stiffness and response right if you build it, plus you'll still have to buy surfskate trucks to put on it anyways. Just buy a complete, its simpler, more reliable, will look better, and cheaper if you factor the time and effort it'll take you to make a board.

longer boards cannot do the radical moves that swelltech does. Hamboards have longer surfskate but you won't be able to do the crazy stuff that Swelltech enables you to do

The front truck is not adjustable. Do not tighten it. You will lock it up. To stiffen your whole board, tighten down the rear kingpin until it feels stable. With a stiffer rear truck you will also be able to pump faster.

How fast can you drive with Pumping?

probably depends on slope (flat, uphill, downhill), surface (smooth, rough), wheels/bearings, your pumping skills and physical fitness. You really need to somewhat fit to pump uphill like Colin does

Can you use gloves for sliding as normal longboards? How do you break on this?

You could use gloves if you wanted, but these trucks work better for standing slides. The free motion front truck makes it really easy to kick out slides then bring them right back in. Its kind of automatic. The 3rd episode is about slides. It will be out in a few weeks.

Nah, so you basically your foot always has to be ok the tail to do slides and for it to be easier to pump. And plus it’s a pretty neat way to be ready for tricks
